Beautiful

The chairs are stunning! Look exactly like the picture & I appreciate that. I purchased the cream colored seat, dark brown iron. However… the instructions were awful. Took 2 of us to put together. A lot of the instructions are not written; this would help immensely. Make sure you have someone super strong to assist deconstructing upon arrival, then getting together.

Just Okay

They can be assembled alone but a little assistance is better. The metal frame is sturdy and they swivel completely around smoothly. They are very attractive, but the material quality and craftsmanship is just okay. There are about 100 staples on the underside of the 1/2 round cushion backrest. If you touch it while sitting on the chair, cutting your finger is a great possibility. They are not upholstery staples; they look like staples for paper and maybe that's why there are so many. These stools are slightly too pricey considering there are an excessive amount of paper staples to hold the material in place and cause potential injury.

Love these stools!

Absolutely beautiful. I held off on buying it for a minute cause they're pretty expensive but I like what I like so I went for it. I only ordered one at first cause I wanted to make sure I was going to like it but its perfect! Goes really well with my gray kitchen, very comfortable to sit in. The only downside is the guy that put it together said it was tough to assemble. It took him over an hour but once it was put together it looked amazing. I ordered a second one immediately!

Thrilled and No Regrets

I love these chairs. They were packed very well to protect all the pieces. They are sturdy, good quality and affordably priced. The directions definitely need improvement; however, you don't need to be a mental sprinter to put together. I'm a 70 year old woman and by the time I put the 4th chair together, I had it from box to under the counter in 27 minutes. My family loves them. My teenage granddaughter walked in the house and immediately responded "WOW, I love the chairs Baba"! I just bought another one today so the whole family can sit at the counter. Can't wait to show off to my friends.

Quality Stool - Poor Material Description/Quality

We ordered 10 of the light grey polyester seat/back, and when they were delivered, we realized the the seat/back material described as "polyester" is actually a tweed like material that is cross stitched with a heather like color. It's not what we expected, but not also not awful looking. However, the first three we opened had snags in the seat/back material. UGH! We could have cut the snags and hoped for the best, but we were worried that over time the snags would increase with use, and the seats would look bad, so we returned them. We like them enough that we are going to buy the same stools with the faux meter seats instead.

Leap of Faith

We had such a hard time finding counter stools- I am so glad we waited and finally purchased these! Our new counter stools have great seats- they are genuinely comfortable, esp in comparison to some of the cushions that still felt like sitting on wooden seats. They are easy to clean. They swivel smoothly. And most of all, they are just “different enough” than everything else out there. Our designer chose these for us- I still tried many at furniture stores thinking I needed to feel it first before I could accurately assess its comfort. I am so glad I took the leap of faith!

I took me weeks and weeks and hours and hours of online shopping to find perfect stools. I can’t believe how picky I am but these let you customize it and pick the color metal you want with the color fabric or, fake leather which I’m not really into, so I stuck with a fabric and we just love them. We were able to get a color combination that ties our big open floor plan on the bottom floor of our home together. They are at our large island in the middle and the color combination brings color from the dining room that’s on one side of the bottom floor to the color in the living room that’s at the other side. It’s really fun to be able to pick the exact ones that you wanted. They took a little time to put together but they were a great price and extremely great quality and they look beautiful and modern and I look forward to having them for years to come. We ended up with a light gray fabric and my only suggestion is that if you’re going to Scotchgard them do it before you put them together so you don’t get all over the metal. It’s just two pieces of fabric covered cushion that would’ve been so much easier to spray before we put the whole darn thing together lol

Amisco counter stools are a smart purchase

We love the look and quality of the counter stools so much that we have also ordered dining room chairs made by Amisco. The counter stools are sturdy, attractive and, best of all, the back fits under the counter. That means when you turn the stool to get in or out, you don't have to stop the turn because of the chair back hitting the counter. It doesn't! Great feature we didn't really consider before ordering. Also, if we needed to, we could push the chairs up against the island to get them out of the way for cleaning, etc. Still, the back is high enough to provide back support and is comfortably padded, like the seat. We are very pleased with this purchase.

Amisco Browser Black/Grey Stools

I ordered 4 barstools and they arrived quite quickly especially considering it was Christmas time. I think it was just about 5 days. The seat height of the barstools are a little high, a couple inches higher than my last set of a different brand. They seem very sturdy and are comfortable to sit on. Many people had described difficulty in assembling them. It depends on if you are used to using tools to put things together. My husband did it quite quickly but was using a power driver. It helps when you have many tools on hand. So far I am happy with them. They have only been in use for about 3 days.

The stools came well packaged, arrived undamaged. Assembly took about 1.5 hours for four stools. The assembly was not difficult, just time consuming - would have gone much quicker if two people had been assembling. One nut was missing from one stool - it was something we easily matched at the local hardware store for less than *. No biggie, but annoying. The stools seem VERY sturdy and well built. I like that they have some weight to them, and they are bottom heavy - my 4yo and 5yo so far have not attempted to tip them. The lower back rests fit under my countertops, eliminating any risk of dinging them up with out of control swivels - so awesome. It also helps to slide the stools under the counter further to tuck them slightly more out of the way when not in use - not a big deal to some, but when you have toddlers running around, a few inches out of the way can make the difference between smooth sailing play time vs collision with furniture and boo boos. None of the stools seem 100% balanced, but that might be due to my hardwood floors (2"wide planks that were DIY installed = lots of seams for the legs to catch/ teeter on) - unsure of that - but not severely and easily resolved with some felt pads on the feet. Easy for my toddlers to climb up into. Easy enough for my 200lb frame to use as well. Material looks good - appears to be exactly what I saw online without any issues. I panicked when I first opened and found holes in the material of the back rests, but quickly realized they were SUPPOSED to be there - long screws went through the pieces to attach to the frame and those holes where then covered/ concealed. I really like the metal frame on top of the padded back rest - I really think it will help eliminate a great deal of wear and tear on the material, making it last longer. I have already caught my knee on the bottom corner joint of the backrest where it joins to the stool base, and that made me cringe. Something that will likely catch me a few more times before I get used to moving around the stools better. Overall very satisfied though. Delivery was not GREAT (delayed 3 days from original delivery quote), but I think that was USPS's fault, not Overstock. Took 1.5 weeks from order date. Would easily recommend without hesitation.

OK so I am a first time customer with Overstock. I have looked high and low for barstools that swivel but we’re not fabric because I have a German Shepherd and they shed like crazy! I saw these online and I was like, hmmm they look pretty good! I read the reviews, noticed they were on sale which made them really affordable, so I did it! Guys I assemble these myself! Reality was I probably did it in about 15 minutes but I kept watching the video for about an hour before I attempted. Super easy to do! I ordered the off-white and in my lighting because of my shutters it looks a little more beige but that’s really my lighting. Anyways I really do like them they’re very modern I’m very coastal and they fit in with my style perfectly and they swivel!! This is been a great experience I will order from overstock again!

Great Look and Stylish Design

I would have given a 5 based on sturdy and stylish design; my only hesitancy was the seat and back covering blue faux leather feels good but also feels like it’s not really strong enough compared to the barstool chairs we were replacing that lasted 40 years with soft real leather coverings. Hopefully, that’s a minor thing. We were originally concerned that when the items arrived the top covered piece had two cuts in them, and the written materials didn’t really advise, that they were there to make it easy to push them into the backrest screws. We did learn that after a few emails about whether it was a defect. It is not. But those little helpful cuts also showed that the actual covering material may not last as long as we hope. They really look and feel great now, so we’ll stay happy with this purchase.

I am so disappointed but not for the reasons you might think. When I was looking at these chairs I was concerned about a lot of the negative reviews specifically they are too heavy (I have no idea why that would be an issue), directions don’t make sense, it’s too hard to put together etc. I went ahead and ordered them, and put them together by myself because my husband was out of town and I was so excited to see them in place and didn’t want to wait for him to get back! These are some of the most well-built, beautiful and yes they have a super study weight chairs I’ve ever seen. If you are considering buying them, have a few tools such as a Phillips screwdriver and a couple of sizes of small wrenches. READ through the entire directions 1st, install the backrest first (contrary to the directions) and take your time with the first 1 and the others go together much faster. For those of you that gave it less than a 5, Please declare in your review your level of comfort with assembling furniture—your comments are just not accurate. I am so pleased and they are beautiful

Great Product, Assembly so-so

This is a beautiful counter stool, well made, solid as a rock. 5-stars, but deducting one because of the assembly difficulties. Assembly is pretty easy with one exception...the upholstered back rest pad. It is held into place with two very long flat-head hex-screws. They screw into nuts that have been welded into the frame. The nuts are not necessarily welded horizontal to the frame. There is some variability in the angle for the welded nut. The back rest pads themselves don't necessarily have holes that line up precisely with the welded frame nuts that are at different angles. The screws seem just a little too short and the threads are soft so you don't get too many tries at getting them screwed in before they start to strip. All that makes for a frustrating assembly of the backrest pad until you get the hang of it. I purchased and built six of these so some tips for assembling the backrest pad to save you some frustration from my learning curve:
