Absolute must for baking bread!

This was a gift for a friend who makes home made bread frequently.

Love the oven. Disappointed in the QC

I have wanted this dutch oven for quite a while, and I am am very excited to have it now. My rating is for the QC of the item. It appears to have quite possibly been a return, the box was pretty worn, the signature French flag ribbon on the knob was not present, and there is a permanent defect on the glaze on the top part of the lid of the oven (which I am assuming is why it was a return from someone else). I honestly do not want to deal with the hassle of returning so I will keep it. But this should have Never made the inspection cut to be sent to a paying customer, especially with such a costly item. Do better, this is disappointing.

Consistent and beautiful

I got this for my brother for Christmas. The enamel is reminiscent of glazed pottery, which is really pretty. So far we've had no issues with cooking nor the quality of the build. I thought the ribbon it comes with was really cute. My only complaint is how rare sage is in the US. Bring us the sage mini cocottes!

Beautiful product that performs beautifully!

I love to make stews and soups in winter. The mix of meat, vegetables and herbs slowly cooked/baked make for comfort and hospitality for us and guests! I have a variety of pots and resisted cast iron options due to weight and size. I was aware of its advantages however. I spied the beautiful Staub pot at WS and tried it on "for size." It came home with me and has been used for baking, heating and serving. It is so attractive that it may reside permanently on my stovetop?

Great addition to the kitchen

I purchased this Staub Dutch oven as an addition to my Dutch oven collection. I decided on this one as it’s larger than my le creuset and has the spikes on the lid, which my le creuset does not have. I thought it would be heavier but it’s quite comfortable to lift. I love the color.

love this

I replaced a different brand Dutch oven with this Staub Dutch oven and love it so far. I got a 7 qt and a 4qt. I really like the black interior. I have only used it a handful of times, but food doesn't stick to the interior ceramic coating and it is very well-made. It's not a complaint, but it is heavy and I think could be too heavy for some people. I love it, though, and would recommend it to everyone.

Staub 7 qt Dutch oven

I've already used the Staub French oven to make beef stew. After having used a Le Creuset for many years, I feel the Staub performed exactly the same for the cooking and was easier to clean up. Color is lovely. With the WS sale price, this was an excellent purchase!

Wrong item sent intentionally

So I ordered a Staub 9 quart dutch oven. WS sent me two smaller ones (maybe 5 quarts). Mind you with a return label for the 9. So this appears to have been intentional, not just a mistake. While I appreciate this was a win economically (they sent more $ value), two smalls do not make a large for my purposes (cassoulet) and they forced a trip to the mall to return. I give two stars instead of one because the employee at the mall store were very nice.

Tried and True 5 Star Quality!!!

I have owned Staub products for 20 years. I think they are the Best Dutch Ovens on the market. My original oval 7 quart still looks like new even though I use it all the time. I recently added this round 5.5 quart to my collection. You can use it on the stove top or oven. Works on all cooking types, gas, electric and induction. They are so easy to clean, no fuss needed. You will Love cooking with Staub.

Truly worth it!

I saw this Staub on sale. I had to try it. I am so thrilled with this pot I am avidly looking forward to holiday sales on this or Le Creuset. It makes a big difference. I have been making good use of my inexpensive Lodge. The bread I made in this Staub is much better. I mean much better. Same recipe, same cook, amazing results. I am in my seventies, with no one to leave a great pot. I did not know about Le Creuset or Staub when I was younger. Totally worth the price difference.

High quality but smaller than expected

This 4qt Staub Dutch oven cooks super evenly. The black enamel interior browns foods perfectly without burning or sticking, and it cleans up easily. It's even better than a seasoned cast iron pan. The first time I browned some cubes of chuck roast for a stew I was amazed at how well it performed compared to my 5-ply stainless saucepan I've used for years.
