Says 24" but the way it's made cuts off 2" so really hard to fit two large towels. Just sitting on my floor. I think I'll return it or toss it. My contractor said he wouldn't install it for himself so I'm looking for a longer one.

I’m afraid the other reviews, which I wish I had read before, are true about the center mechanism. It’s a small set screw meant to hold the arms level. No matter how well it’s tightened, the weight of one towel makes it tilt. I straightened it several times and tightened the set screw. To no avail. It’s beautiful to look at and really good quality. Just a design flaw. Sad.
