Not for 1/2in IPS threads

Purchased this item to replace a 40+ year old spout. The connection from the wall was 4 in steel pipe with 1/2in threads in not great shape. This "universial" spout had a 3/4 in steel thread female connection, but to be universal with the 1/2 pipes, it has a plastic spacer that you screw on the 1/2 pipe, then you screw the 3/4 in spout over this plastic spacer. This is where this product fails. The plastic spacer doesnt go on smoothly when trying to put it on to an old 1/2 pipe, and then you have to twist the 3/4 female thread over this plastic spacer. Spent about 15 min trying to get the plastic spacer on steel pipe and then the spout on the plastic spacer. Total fail. Went back and got the Danco with diverter, because it has a 1/2in steel threaded female connector that went on to pipe smoothly (the diverter on this is useless and can be removed if not needed on your setup)

Pipe too long had to get extra “fashion” ring to extend.

Was missing adaptors

Attachment adapter was too tight so the spout could not fit properly onto water pipe from the wall.

The part did not stop the leak

the plastic adapter inside the spout split and i had to go buy another entire spout...adapters not sold separately.

This sales lady was no help. She had no idea what it was. Did not fit on the pipe.

Needed a replacement. This was the product that was recommended by an associate. He said, I wouldn’t need the adapter piece but the only way it would even get on was to use the adapter. It’s on but the adapter stops it from twisting all the way to the shower wall. I decided to leave it in place until I feel like finding a better one.

It did not fit the pipe on my tub. We really wanted the diverter of the spout because our house is 50 years old but unfortunately it would not turn even though it says it will fit half inch or three-quarter inch pipe.

Make sure to clean the receiving end.

With adapter it doesn’t allow to tighten to the shower wall leaving a 1/8th inch gap that will need to be sealed
