I just received the spout and it is as seen on photo. It has some weight and appears to be of good quality. Just a slight roughness on one side as if a 'miss' while spraying or something stuck on it during the drying process. Otherwise will match the color coordination of my bathroom perfectly

The Westbrass Front Connection Tub Spout was solid and heavier than those I had previously purchased.

One of my worst purchases ever

Spout had all the appearances of a functional unit, but it wouldn't thread onto the wall nipple of tthe plumbing. There was some plastic-like substance at the entrance to the threads that would chip off when attempting to start the thread. However, even with that chipped away it still did not work. The manufacturer claimed the material was Loc-Tite, but I don't think so!

Improper Lining on Threads

The threads on the inside of this spout were coated with an epoxy that made it very difficult to fit over the pipe. I had to burn out the lining to get it to fit on the pipe. Big pain. But since it was the only place I could find this type of unit, I did the work.

for houses built in the 50's

I have the original copper plumbing from 1955. It is challenging to find faucet sets that will fit on the existing plumbing. This tub spout is real metal w/ a nice heft to it and fit almost perfectly.. Although the size is exact it has a slightly shorter threaded area so it did not go flat against the tile so I used a little caulk. I bought an extra one as a spare. This item is amazing for the price!!

Looks like an exact replacement but:

I replaced a Central spout with this one. Unfortunately the spout would not screw in far enough to meet the tub wall. It left about a quarter inch gap.
