I chose Delta because it comes with a lmt lifetime warranty. Previous tub spouts I tried leaked a lot of water when operating the shower head. This spout is longer than I wanted ( 7" vs 5" ) and it required modifying the copper supply pipe with a solder-on extension. It would have been a simple slip-on install if it was 5 inch in length, but I couldn't find a Delta unit at that length for slip-on installation. The solder job was no big deal, as I am pretty good at plumbing work. Other people may have to call a pro plumber ( $$$ ) to use this. Delta does make a 5" spout for NPT thread-on installations. Had I known modifications were required to my supply pipe, I would have bought the shorter 5" Delta tread-on spout and simply soldered on a 1/2" threaded copper adaptor.

TIP: Before installing, pump 1/2 to 3/4 inch bead of silicone caulk around inside of trim hole to ensure that a safety seal will form - over a short period of time - that will help to guard against the faucet becoming loose from ordinary pushing/pulling on it. Product name doesn't show. Ergo, can be matched with any other brand of fittings.

This is a very nice, heavy duty product. It installs effortlessly if you have a straight copper pipe to slide it over. Just slide it on, tighten the set screw and caulk (silicone) around where it meets the wall. Looks and works great!

I had one just like this and had to replace it due to a stuck divert valve that broke when I tried to unjam it. The new one works great, it was easy to install. I would give it a 5 star if there was a repair kit for this tub spout. If there is a repair kit, please let me know for future reference.

Fits my over-sized tub perfectly! Great finish! It works a lot better than I thought it would based upon the method of attachment. This is the first time I have used this style of faucet with a tub valve. I must say, it was the easiest install ever.

Our shower over tub is actually over a Jacuzzi tub so we needed a longer than normal spout to get the water into the tub. We had been using a normal size with an extension on it which was less than attractive, but it worked. Our choices were limited because our bathroom fixtures are all brass. This spout is long enough to work on its own and looks good. However, we use the shower much more often than the tub. On the old spout we could keep the lever in the up position that made the shower work. This one automatically drops back down when the water is turned off. That may not be a problem in most cases but our "doorway" to the tub/shower is fairly distant from the spout. That means one has to step into the shower with the water running into the tub, pull up the lever and prepare to be blasted from the shower by the cold water in the pipe. Not pleasant. My husband created a "fix" so that the lever would always be up, but that means there is always some water leaking out of the spout instead of going through the shower. To use the tub, more force than normal will be needed to push the lever back down. Not perfect, but it works.

I don't know if the other reviewer knows how to read. But this is the ez's spout to put on. And yes, max is 4 1/4" from title wall the pipe that is. The spout is 7" long, and it fits. If you lube pipe and push it all the way on, you have to go pass o-ring. Takes longer to get the tools then to put on. Looks, GREAT too. You can't go wrong with this spout and delta brass color won't come off if you take care of it. Or at lease stays on longer then other brands.

Perfect replacement for my old spout - After about 8 years, the old spout corroded internally to the point where it would no longer shut off water to the tub. The exterior was still as good as new (I have the chrome finish).

Great Replacement

Needed to replace existing faucet in bathroom. This one was an exact replacement. Well packaged and received quickly. Not available at home stores. Easy to install. Works great.

Chrome Tub Spout

The all metal tub spout is very heavy duty, when compared to the original plastic spout. The longer length and better quality screen directs the water flow down, in a nice even straight stream. The only issue we had was during installation: The new metal spout does not use a threaded connection, so we had to solder a threaded copper reducer to a half inch copper pipe, which in turn screwed to the existing pipe. The new tub spout slides over the half inch copper and is secured by a hex screw.
