I agree with all the comments on the lid. It is flat out horrible

Just bought it, haven't even used it. I went to get the label off and there's this weird silver lines with 521.1 and + won't come off. Anyone else have this on there pitcher??

They Ruined the Lids!

I have loved the Rubbermaid pitchers forever, but this one is a FAIL! Why did they change the lid??? It is SO hard to remove, or even turn. I am 59, and don’t have the strongest hands anymore. I am donating these new pitchers, ( I bought 3 to replace my wonderful old worn out ones), to a thrift store and won’t buy another Rubbermaid until they change the lids back to the perfect ones they had before.

Junk

I bought this pitcher yesterday. Today I have been struggling for 45 minutes to get the lid off. I wan to set up orange juice and cannot. This thing is a piece of crap. I will struggle with the decision to return it or throw it in the trash.

Lid is not functional

Got this jug for Christmas and the lid is simply not functional, it doesn't turn so you can't seal it so, or turn it to pour from either side. Taking it off is also very difficult, if the pour hole isn't facing the spout it's almost impossible to remove. We tried breaking it in but that did bit help.

Lid is very hard to get off. Terrible design! Don’t buy this one.

I purchased 2 of the new style pitchers. The lid is impossible to turn and to remove without prying off. If possible send me the old style lids as a replacement.

Do Not Buy. Lid Failure. Cannot open lid. Needed pliers to pry it open. Got my money back.

Unusable

I bought this pitcher because it holds one gallon, and I needed to have plenty of clean drinking water ready in case the water supply were to become unreliable during a winter storm. Since the lid cannot be removed, the pitcher is worthless.

Devoid of Function

It’s a pitcher. You had one job. I bought two pitchers and, as others have said, the lid is extremely poor design. Is there a design at all? I strongly suspect someone there created it as a parting, middle finger goodbye to the company. The lid won’t turn to open and close and you can’t remove it to wash without prying. Moreover, why is this pitcher still being sold??

What’s the deal with the LID??

The pitcher itself is great but the lid is almost impossible to remove. I came here looking for a solution only to find everyone seems to be having the same issue. WHATS THE SOLUTION? Is there one???

NOT WORTH 1 STAR.. Got it for a christmas present.. Terrible design.. I did figure out that you can use a kitchen knife to pry it up to remove.. pick either hole to line up with the spout, insert knife and pry up.

Terrible

I give this one star since I can’t use it because I can’t get the lid off!! I bought this pitcher in two sizes and have the same problem with both. I got online to see if there was something I was missing about the design, only to find so many other complaints about the lid! After a good twenty minutes of difficult prying, twisting, etc., which by the way was terrible for my arthritic hands, I finally got the small size off. I’ve given up on the other one.

Absolutely awful lid!

I just bought this and can't get the lid off. How frustrating! I want a refund.

My wife bought 2 of these and the lid is utterly impossible to remove by turning or pulling lid. The only way to remove lid is; #1- once empty, turn lid to spout and fill with hot or warm water to top,#2- then turn pitcher upside down over sink turning lid and it will come loose. The positive is when pouring liquid from Pitcher there's no leakage. Lid fits really tight.

Awful

I hate this pitcher! I can’t turn it to open the hole and I can’t get it off. I bought it because it’s Rubbermaid and thought that was a good product.
