I was about to panic when I discovered these weren't available at the home improvement stores anymore. A quick search revealed they were cheaper directly from American Standard than that auction site or the big online store everyone knows about. They were shipped quickly and fit perfectly. I think it's fantastic that we can order repair parts from the manufacturer.

American Standard shower handle adapter

It’s plastic so make sure you buy a few extras since you’re paying for shipping. These things do NOT last, which isn’t the vendor’s fault—it’s the fault of the manufacturer.

It wasn't actually the correct part I needed but it came extremely quick at the best price I could find. It was the part it was supposed to be but American Standard was impossible to reach and sadly mislead by their website as to part number needed. I actually need another/different plastic piece behind the handle. Will have this part on hand when it does break and judging from experience, it will break eventually like all my other American Standard parts with junky plastic pieces.

Perfect fitment!

I was told at Home Depot and nearby plumbing/warehouses that the adapter in question could not be bought alone, as it is of older style faucets. I may have been misinformed by busy associates, but am very excited not to be spending near $100 for a new set of faucets, and having found this adapter which matched the size and fitment perfectly. Definitely recommended and beneficial!
