Old came out of the door and the new door knob set fit in the door great and works great as well.

No instructions, no template, not even a good picture. This may be a mortise lock but there is only a 10% chance it will match the 100 year old lock you are replacing. Took 3 hours to install with trying to figure out what holes needed to be drilled where and how this lock even needed to be assembled. If you know how mortise locks work I imagine you'll have no trouble at all, but if you don't and you're just trying to replace an ancient lock without destroying the ancient door, you'll need configure it out in your own.

Had to replace mortise lock on a steel door. This new one did not line up nicely with the openings but was able to install after a few tweaking. The lock does its job but turning the key takes a bit of muscles. It is not as easy as a regular door lock.

Glad to find this product for an older home, I’m working in. It was perfect. It definitely met my expectations and my client is pleased.

Defective

The lever stopped working less than a month after installing it. As in, I effectively was locked out of my house because the lever would not engage with the inner mechanism to allow me to open the door. Would not recommend.

Wrong product, wrong handed door handle, was shipped the first time.

Worked!

I never installed a lock before. The woman at Home Depot gave me a lock that perfectly matched the broken one. After a bit of fiddling, some Vaseline and WD 40 it works like a Swiss watch.

Very easy to put in. Love that I actually have keys now. Might be getting two more but need to find out if I’m able to make them use the same key for all three

Purchased to replace an entry door skeleton key mortise at an 100 yr old house. Seems well built. Cassette was slightly larger than the cavity in the door so needed to drill and chisel to fit. Fit snuggly and operated properly. Customer very happy with the look and operation.

Very easy to install but I can’t figure out for the life of me why the rod that connects the two door knobs is two piece threaded. If it’s not tight enough or comes loose the door knob just spins. Also if you press the lever to lock just the knob it locks both knobs not just the exterior, rendering the door useless until you figure out how to get the lever pressed with the door closed.

This gets the job done.

These are plastic parts and very cheaply made. I was hoping this would be a good alternative to parts there were made in the late 70's and fix broken door handles but these would not last a week in my home.

High quality entry set to replace an old mortise set. Very hard to find this set in these dimensions and pleased that it was such a heavy duty quality lock. It was missing screws but the company shipped them to me.

Just had to drill other holes in my door to replace older mortise lock, but so far so good

It would have been nice to have a description include if a spindle wad needed or not.
