Good light and well made. Only downside is that there isn’t much depth to the base - very snug fitting for the cables.

Awful to fit

I don't think I've written a poor review before, but with this light, as with some of the other reviews on it, I found it very difficult to fit and am not that impressed with the look of it once up on the ceiling.You need two strong ceiling fixings (in my case plasterboard screw fixings) to hold the metal bracket onto the ceiling, as it takes some pressure to press the light fitting to the bracket as you tighten the two small screws on either side of the light to fasten it to the bracket. The screws don't go into the bracket, but rest on it. When tightening the two small white screws, some of the paint came off them, so the look was not as good then. It was the same with the small white screws on the three spotlights, which you loosen in order to inserts the bulbs. I used white paint and a small brush to neaten these up, but I would have thought, for what I think is an expensive light fitting, that this shouldn't have happened.The ceiling plate is shallow and only the depth of the plastic casing for the attached wiring block, which has to fit between it and the ceiling, along with the wires serving each of the three spotlights. When I was installing it (it took two attempts over two days), the plastic wiring box got stuck against the wires from the spotlights, then against the bracket on the ceiling, so when I finally managed to secure it, it just wouldn't sit flush or level with the ceiling (I removed it and fitted it again several times to try and get it flush and level). I'm in a new-build with a smooth plaster ceiling. I accept the ceiling may not be completely flat, but not sure any are. My previous similar fitting that I replaced with this (it was from JL and had integrated LEDs that couldn't be replaced when they failed) looked much neater and it sat flush to the ceiling.I feel the Astro spotlights look really smart in the online images, but I just haven't been able to get this look at my home. I'm also concerned that squashing/bending the mains wire into the narrow gap between the ceiling and the spotlight plate is not that safe. I've decided to replace it with another similar spotlight from JL that I thinks looks to have better fixings.This has been an expensive mistake and on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this light. There are other, similar lights at John Lewis that look good, are cheaper and look to be more practical in terms of giving room for the necessary wiring. Less

well made and installed relatively easily. The quality of light is good; you can find less expensive high-cri bulbs elsewhere that are less expensive.

Good quality and nice design

I bought two of these for my kitchen. There are obviously much cheaper triple spotlights available but I thought these looked the best and am very pleased with them now they're up - I don't regret spending the extra. They're a nice shape and design creating a contemporary, high quality look. They are extremely bright (I've only got a 3.5 watt LED bulb in) and so I've paired them with an LED compatible dimmer switch, makes them even better.Only downside, as other reviewers have mentioned, the fitting plate is very thin and there are only two fitting screws rather than 4, meaning the wiring has to be perfect and if your ceiling isn't completely flat then they won't be fully flush all the way round. I get this is a design feature but just a little more depth would have helped. Still very happy with them though. Less

Excellent fixture

Purchased for a residential job. With it's small compact size it offers excellent illumination. I appreciate that the fixture provides the option for the consumer to select the type of LED light bulbs. The fixture can be used endlessly, since the light bulbs can be replaced. Please note that the bulbs were a little tricky to connect to the fixture. The look of the fixture is clean and modern and blends in with ease.

Great light, awful to fit

Would echo what most people have said - these are very attractive lights but ridiculously difficult to fit. The plate is far too shallow to accommodate all the parts. We bought 2 - for 1, it took us 3.5 hours to fit it because we had to fiddle so much with all the fittings to get them to fit into the plate. The second one took less time as the hole in the ceiling was bigger to accommodate the wiring. For the price these lights are, I would not expect it to be this difficult. That being said they look great when up and provide a lot of light

Looks great and very smart and contemporary. Make sure the bulbs are 'warm' though as the room will look like an operating theatre - cold and clinical!
