Quality fabric and easy to customize

We have always loved the Coolaroo line of shade products and we’re excited to try this version. We needed to create shade for the suffering Camelia next to our front door. We attached the shade to a board, measured and cut to length, then installed to our facia board. Disappointed that at least one end didn’t have a ‘pocket’ to help anchor the fabric to hang straight. Overall good DIY solution for us.

Good sunblocker

So, I got this for a patio area that I am building in my back yard. (Not quite finished) The material used for this shade piece is super thick. It does block out the sun real good. For those wondering about how this roll is, I will advise you that there is NO prefabbed holes in the shade fabric. You will have to either get a grommet kit and do the holes yourself, or staple the fabric to the patio cover or whatever you’re using. Otherwise, this is plenty of fabric to get a good shade area.

Great shade

This heavy duty shade fabric is very light, but sturdy and will make a great addition to my backyard landscape. Package contains a 15 foot by 6 foot section of shade fabric folded in half. I plan on lacing mine with some parachute cord.

Love This Shade!

The Coolaroo Privacy Screen 90% UV Block Shade Fabric is a heavy duty, breathable shade cloth made from 100% recycled fabric and is lead and phthalate free. The fabric is stain, mold, mildew, fade and tear resistant. It’s easy to clean too….just hose it off. Additionally, the shade cloth includes a 15 year manufacturer warranty against UV degradation.

Great shade fabric perfect for all elements

Excellent product I have owned many of their products in the past and I’ve been very pleased with them. They are heavy duty, weather resistant fabric, and good for multiple applications. They’re very durable and work well in the elements. After using this product, my family is purchasing one for themselves.

Very quality material with great shade properties.

I selected this product to use with a chicken coop I built to provide a shade area to the open air run. This product, with it's 90% UV rating, and not being a solid canvas product provides significant shade without allowing rain to puddle and weigh it down. It's tightly woven enough to provide some protection from light rain but is not designed to be a waterproof covering. The material is quite thick, yet easily workable, it isn't overly stiff and has some stretch, but holds its shape quite well. The sides have what appears to be a stitched reinforcement on the long edge but not on the short end. The material doesn't seem to be prone to unraveling even where I tested cutting the material both directions with common kitchen shears. The material cuts nicely if you need to trim off excess for you intended use. The material feels weighty but is not inherently heavy. The 6'x15' length (90sqft) weighs a little less than 5lbs or 18sqft per pound if you have load considerations. The material is not completely opaque but appears so unless looking through it from very close to the material. While this makes the material superb for shade it presented problems when I was trying to attach the plastic butterfly clips made by the same company. I was unable to penetrate the material using my hands or even a set of pliers so keep that in mind when you are making plans to use this product and opt for a different method of attaching it. I've included a picture of the clip and the shade so you can gauge the size of the clip prongs that had trouble passing through the material. While I had to scrap that plan for hanging it, I feel confident that the material is easily stout enough to be attached by a staple gun and will meet my needs, still look nice, and while the chickens are notoriously disinterested, provide them with quality shade to be more comfortable in the NC summer sun.

I love this fabric

It cuts out the heat so much. We laid it on top of our wooden pergola, and it just keeps things so much cooler. I love all of the color choices as well. We just replaced our previous fabric which lasted about 6 years. It was still in decent shape but I wanted to change out the color.

Nice but with issue

This is a decent sun shade it looks good and is woven nice and thick. The problem that I see is that the cut ends are not sealed like the sides so as to how it will hold up in the weather only time will tell

Coolaroo heavy duty shad fabric

This Coolaroo shade fabric is perfect for my chickens run. We live in Kansas and it gets so hot. The run was already partially covered but I wanted to cover the entire roof to block the sun and keep them a little cooler. It’s a nice grayish color and matches well with the existing cover. It also was long enough to cover the south side of the run. I used zip ties to secure it to the frame of the run. It will also keep leaves and sticks from getting caught in the chicken wire on the roof of the run. It was easy to install.

Nice Shade

Our backyard deck faces the southwest and is unbearable in the late afternoon/early evening during the summer, so we needed some kind of protection from the glaring sun. Pre-made roller shades were very expensive and we couldn't find the right size that worked. So, we decided to go the DIY route and install this heavy-duty 15 x 6 ft. sunshade which was a perfect solution. It claims to block 90% of the light and it comes close blocking most of the light (see picture). Another benefit is that it is somewhat of a breathable fabric that does not pool any rainwater. The stone-grey fabric color also matches our deck surroundings. Perfect solution for a deck sunshade.
