Wonderful thistle feeder.

I bought the copper thistle feeder a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it in the garden & the birds do too. It did take about a week for the finches to start using so be patient as they will adapt. I love the sealed bottom which eliminates a lot of waste vs. store bought ones. There is also the option to add a thistle ‘catcher’ on the bottom of this feeder, but I prefer to use as the picture is shown. Thank you Nature Niche for quality products so close to home!

I’m actually waiting to see. So far, I’ve seen one brave goldfinch alight upon the spirals, but immediately ditched it. Have seen no action since. Perhaps the wrong time of year? So far, waiting to see.

Fabulous bird feeder well crafted nice quality I had 7 gold finches on this feeder yesterday.

Pretty, but not very functional.

It's incredibly hard to fill, as the base is round and does not support the feeder. Also there's a copper wire across the top that makes it impossible to insert a funnel. Also, there is no protection from rain, and so the seeds get wet easily and go bad even faster than normal. It also holds a bit too much seed. Even a large flock of Goldfinches can't eat it all before it goes bad. A plastic "spacer" cylinder in the center would solve that problem. It's really pretty though, and great to see the Finches move around on that spiral.

Wished I had know to buy a squirrel cover, it’s not worth it with your handling and shipping costs for a lower priced item

Not bear proof!

This is our second feeder as the bears found it as desirable as the birds. Great looking feeder the only issue we had was drainage. The bottom of the feeder only has a few small holes, we added about 10 more and the problem went away.

Nice Feeder But.....

I previously left a review for this plastic tube feeder a few days ago giving it a good review as the birds were eating from it and appeared to like it. Since then we have had several days of rain. I have two nyjer seed feeders One is a metal mesh feeder the other is the plastic tube feeder I am reviewing. The mesh feeder is the best. I have found that with the plastic tube feeder water and dampness are contained inside the tube and as there is no air flow it causes the seed to rot on the bottom. I would return the item and exchange for another but due to it now being used I am stuck with it. I just took it apart and had to dig out the rotted seed at the bottom. I will not purchase this type of nyjer seed feeder again.

Perfect feeder, my birds love it!

Bears took my last feeder and the cheaper ones at the big box stores just were not cutting it. Glad I picked this up, well made and sturdy, and the birds seem to like the wrapped footholds as much as the regular perches. Win win for me. Would purchase again. (And might have to if the bear comes back)
