As good as it gets.
FANTAIL PRO: As good as it gets. Upgraded from the base Fantail. The adjustable nose piece is a small thing, but a big deal. The ear grabs are a bit tight, but thats my fault for not paying close attention to the Size/Fit guide. I'm a "last two or three pegs" guy. So maybe an XL frame would fit a tad better. Look before you order.
Did not meet expectations
The information that I received through multiple sources shared that the Costa Fantail Pros in the green lens was the best optics for saltwater flats. Unfortunately that was not the case as they performed very poorly. Thank goodness I also brought my Smith Guide Choice glasses with copper lens that were far superior.
Great for sight fishing
Great sunglasses for seeing what is under the water. I bought these for sight fishing and they work great for that. They are lightweight and the lenses are super clear. Very happy with these.
Excellent Costa Del Mar brown silver mirror lens and excellent gray frame construction. I also bought another Costa sunglasses in gray lens and gray frame good. I am absolutely happy I bought my Costa Del Mar sunglasses. Thank you Costa !
Best fishing glasses so far
Hi Im from Costa Rica and I have been using fishing sun glasses for around 15 years (other brands) and I bought the Fantail pro model a month ago and they are just incredible. Perfect ajustable nose pad fit, the colors and glare reduction is amazing. I recommend them.
Best low-light glasses
Great all-around sunglass. Driving, hiking, and of course, fishing. They fit well and most importantly for me, they "hold" well on my hat when I need to see the size 18 hook eye. My sunglasses in the past from a different brand had great low-light (in glass) but I shattered them when they fell off my hat when leaning over in garage. The Costas don't do that. They offer great contrast as well, especially helpful for sight fishing. Expensive, but you get what you pay for!
Huge Improvement
I previously had Motu's, that I sent in for warranty because some rubber was peeling off. After a few weeks on first contact I was given a 100% off code to the website with no hassle, no questions asked. That's when I chose these and I could not be happier. These things just stick to my face and do not want to come off. The hydrolite rubber on the rear of the frame sticks to your head like glue, no kidding! Going from the Motu's to these is a world of change, these are more for the serious angler and I love it. They deserve the PRO name.
Costa equals quality (and better fishing)
Costa makes a solid, quality pair of sunglasses, that are worth every penny. The copper silver lens allows you to do site fishing in a multitude of environments. Here in New England we fish salt water in the summer, fresh water in the winter, and the Costas are always on my face. If you want quality, look no further.
Great product made better.
Theyve taken a really incredible product and made it even better. I wouldve never paid the retail price. Thanks to eBay, I was able to afford them. The 580 G glass lens is so incredibly clear and vivid. I love the fact that the lens is scratch proof. Ive had the 580 P lenses in the past, and they seem to always scratch too easily. Costa Delmar makes good stuff.
Fantail vs fantail pro
Its been two weeks on the water using the fantail pro 580G after owning the 580G regular fantail for a few years. I upgraded after the nose pads and ear pads wore out on my fantails. Pros of the new pro: great ventilation compared to the regular fantail. Never any fog inside the lens. The fit is about the same as the regulars. The only con is the adjustable nose pads. After about two hours these nose pads seem to cause pressure points and dig into my nose leaving impressions where as the regular fantails distribute the pressure more evenly and I could wear them all day. This is just my issue with them, not a deal breaker but something to be aware of.
Best sunglasses ever
Costa fantail pro sunglasses are the best sunglasses I’ve ever owned. They are prescription sunglasses and sport RX was very good in inpecting the first pair before they sent them to me that came. They had a scratch on the lens so they sent them back to Costa to get me a new lens that is awesome service. I appreciate it very much.
Love Costa but…
I will start by saying I love costas and been a customer for a long time, but these over me looking at other glasses.
Fantail 580 are great
I had these glasses for over 10 years
Pinches the nose
I was so excited about these. Love the look, the lens, and functionality. But the adjustable nose bridge doesn’t work for me. No matter how I adjust them they get uncomfortable within 30 minutes and leave red marks on my nose. I don’t have a big nose, it’s just the design of the new bridge that doesn’t seem to be working.
Buy them!
Honestly, I’ve only gotten to wear them a few times. Love the pro fit functions. I bought them to supplement my rinconcitos in more sporting based environments. I don’t see any reason they won’t be exactly what I was looking for. Costa delivers yet again. Buy with Confidence! PS. The matte wetlands looks awesome.
New Pro version
Love the New Pro version of glasses with nose piece, and vents for no fogging. Glasses of course are Awesome Costa quality as usual. Wouldn’t wear anything else. First time I have made them prescription sunglasses and kind of odd at first but getting use to them that way. But would not wear any other sunglasses period! And absolutely Love the new pro version 100%!
very impressed
I'm very impressed with the green glass. Everything is so clear, the colors are brighter, it completely cuts sun glare. I can see down in the water pretty well. The lenses are a little heavy but that's to be expected. The frame does press on the back of my head behind my ears a bit I believe that's to keep them snug on your face so also to be expected. These are the best sunglasses I've ever had overall.
Fantail PRO
This is my fifth pair of Costa's and I always go GLASS and you should to (Bought the plastic with my first pair and returned for GLASS and never went back).
Fits better than the regular fantail
This is my fifth pair of costas. The pro series fits better than the regular fantail. I tried it on at my local bass pro shops and went with the pro series. The adjustable nose pad is what makes it better IMO. Just a recommendation, always get glass when getting costas. You will not be disappointed.
Best sunglasses I've owned
I used them for the first time on October 31, and they worked perfectly. I could sight fish much better for the trout in a small, very creek that fishes like a spring creek. The trout are very spooky, and the only way to catch them is to see them before they see you. The Costa's improved my odds of success considerably.
