Would buy again

Solid, stylish, and affordable. Took a few minutes to put together, but relatively straightforward. Will definitely buy more like this next time I need bookcases.

Pretty!

I received the Linon ladder bookcase two weeks ago. My brother put it together for me. No extra tools needed. It was bigger than I thought so I told him to keep it in two pieces. I put the top in my living room and was going to put the bottom in my storage closet. It is really to big for my small apartment, so, I offered it my brother and his wife jumped at the chance. She is going to use it to display some of her antiques.

This Linon Espresso Wood Ladder Bookshelf is so visually appealing, the espresso colored wood is very nice and it has an expensive quality look to it! The height is seventy two inches so a tall shelf that can handle books, plants or whatever you like! I really like this bookshelf and will place it in my living room for everyone to see!

This is a really nice shelf. It was super easy to assemble. It feels sturdy but is still pretty light. It does include a wall anchor. It’s a lovely color and a great addition to my room. The lower shelves are deep enough to hold storage cubes.

Recently got this bookshelf in espresso and we are obsessed with it. Really easy to assemble. This is such a beautiful addition to any room. It's a lot bigger than we thought, but we're happy about that. Highly recommend!

Nice quality bookshelf

This bookshelf was easy to assemble and the pieces were all there. It did need to be cleaned after it was put together but that wasn’t really a big deal. It looks great now that it’s set up and it’s definitely a sturdy bookshelf.

Liked but did not love

Was expecting a darker color, its has more of a reder than brown tint. It was a little flimsy so best for someone without small kids. Its nice and was easy to put together.

Overpriced for Junk

The price is absolutely ridiculous for the quality. This is incredible hard to assemble and very rickety. The top half and bottom half of the shelf are attached by wood glue and wooden pegs. Not sturdy at all and the price has gone up by $70 since September!

Ordered this shelf because I bought one a couple years ago and wanted them to match. Unfortunately the “dark espresso†color is not as dark as the one I already had! Also the smell of the wood is a little bothersome though, smells like strong paint! Easy to put together!

Problems

I bought this to go with some other ladder-style storage that i previous bought from Lowe's and loved. Unfortunately they no longer sell the other brand. it is a good thing that I always intended to leave off one of the shelves so that I could use it to store a large stand mixer because the holes on one side of the top two tiers are totally misaligned with the holes on the other side, so much so that I could not even put in the second to the top shelf. The top shelf is actually slightly twisted (lower on the left and also slightly twisted front to back but I was able to get it attached with a little elbow grease.

Wrong color advertised it is red

It is not espresso color it is red.

Shoddy and cheap

Poorly designed. Shocked this came from American Signature. It's garbage.

Espresso color very red

I ordered two of these bookshelves in the Espresso color. After opening the box, the wood color is very red. Unfortunately, these will be returned. I can not comment on the sturdiness or assembly because they didn't even come out of the boxes. Espresso color to me is a dark brown/almost black color. These have a very strong red tone to them :(

It was very easy to put together by my self. It looks great in my hallway and holds a lot of pictures.

At least 2 people are needed to assemble.

Great shelves, sticker was horrible to remove

The shelves look great. They're sturdy and have plenty of room. Assembly wasn't too bad either. The one major drawback and the reason I'm only giving them 4 stars is that they came with a sticker placed directly on the bottom of the top shelf that was an utter pain to remove. I had to buy Goo Gone and spend the better part of an hour to get it off. Perfect shelves otherwise, though.

No caps for the screw locks is a visual eye sore. Additionally, the side pieces don't sit flush together without additional sanding (the sides have to be assembled). There are some weird and useless groove in the middles of the sides looks ugly. It also calls out the fitment issue with the side pieces if you don't sand the sides down. My wife is the type of person that would ask me to fix whatever she bought even if it is defective right out of the gate though. Looks like this junk is staying home folks. Definitely would not recommend it to others though. Seen better looking bookcases elsewhere. Steer clear of this bad boy!
