EZEE Shed® Steel Storage Shed, 6 ft. x 5 ft. Charcoal
After reading the negative reviews, I had to comment. I currently have a 10 by 12 I had for 12 years, still looks like new. It had been picked up from my old place, moved on a trailer 2 miles to my new home. It went together good, a couple holes didn’t line up but just a little shake and it was good. It can seem flimsy while building but once completed they are rock solid. I am a diy kind of person, so someone new would benefit from this tip. Use a level surface and the holes line up well. I also had a 30 plus year old 8 x 10 given to me that finally had to go after 2 feet of wet snow bent the roof. Not bad. I will definitely buy the 5 by 6 and turn it into an ice fishing shack. Great product at a reasonable price.
Dimension are 10% smaller then announced
The title of this shed shows the dimension is 6 ft x 5 ft, which gives you 30 square foot of storage surface. Measured floor surface gives you 5.5 ft x 4.5 ft that equals 24.75 square ft. This is a huge difference of 18%. This company uses doubtful marketing approach which I found unacceptable. I had a hard time to return it and get a full refund, because they never accepted that it’s their fault. I never buy from them again.
DO NOT BUY!!!
this product is in no way an easy assemble like the directions say. it took 18+ hours to put together total. the holes don’t match. it’s not as big as it says it is. there’s no bottom on it. the screws don’t want to match up and screw in together. very cheap hardware!! this was an absolute disaster from the beginning. i called and asked if somebody could come out and build it, and they acted like they didn’t even know what they were talking about and told me it should be a diy shed. THEY LIED!!!! save your money and time, and don’t buy this piece of crap!! i will never buy from lowe’s again.
The metal is very lightweight and the box is amazingly small and light for a whole shed. One day delivery was amazing! Panels do not snap together very securely and you have to pay close attention to that during assembly. Channel does not go on like the directions show. You must slide it on and have a rubber mallet to hammer it all the way, then fix any folded metal from doing that. Buy some standard metal roofing 12x3/4 stitch screws with washers instead of the ones in the box. They work better and are much easier to install. I am very good mechanically and even have a mechanical engineering degree plus work for a metal roofing and siding company, but I found this shed challenging to assemble. For most people, I recommend hiring someone to put this together. I am just using it to store garden tools, fertilizer, etc. so I didn't expect more for the price and it will serve the purpose, but it is very thin metal and light. Don't buy this shed to store valuable items, especially in a high theft area or in heavy storm areas. It would be very easy to just kick the panels to break in. Leave the door unlocked so the thief doesn't damage your shed.
This is the worst shed ever. Do not order it.
Finally, I have a place to put my patio things and garden tools away without having to live with the clutter. The pieces of the metal storage shed came in 3 large packages. I, 75years young, unpacked and sorted the pieces under a shady tree on the lawn. To put together, my Neighbour helped me and we were done in about 5 hrs with drilling it into place at the end of the patio. It looks great and has already survived a Hurricane and I could store all the flying things in the roomy shed. I'm so grateful that I had it. And it was a very reasonable price.
We built this on my deck, to store stuff without looking trashy. I was surprised at how small the box was, but everything we needed was there, more than enough hardware included. My friend built it mostly by himself, took a few hours, mostly because his drill ran out of battery and he built 50% of the shed with a regular screwdriver. Definitely look up a YouTube video tutorial on how to build it. I’m happy enough with it!
A fine shed for the price
Not bad at all. For a $460 shed this one is quite easy to assemble and well worth the price as opposed to spending a lot on a wooden that needs assembly or the vinyl sheds that cost twice as much. I have a vinyl and would not get another; personal preference.
I bought this shed for gardening supplies and tools to go in the backyard. It came missing a piece which, when I brought the issue up with Wayfair, was taken care of immediately. The manufacture sent a new shed to me at no cost in a timely manner. The shed itself does require you to build or make an actual floor at additional expenses to you. In my case, I built a wooden platform based off of the recommended materials and sizes found in the shed manual. The shed was relatively easy to assemble and is sturdy on it's wooden platform. the bottom is not water proof (when the sprinklers hit the shed, the water will go between the shed and wooden floor), but for my purposes of using the shed this is not a big deal to me. Overall, very happy with this purchase for value, ease of assemblage, durability, functionality, and looks.
Importance of shed purpose
Easy to assemble but must be two people to do it. Ok with the instructions.
Great with realistic expectations
If you expect the quality of a wood $2000+ shed then dont bother. My husband and i put this up together. Was it a little annoying to install? Sure but nothing to cause a divorce over.
Not What I Expected
After getting to step 6 we realized we did not hac it bought screws and nuts. we purchased some from the local hardware store. we got to step 8 and realized that we were missing pieces that could not be purchased in our local hardware store. We asked for an entire packet of parts since we didn't want to count 132 screws. when we got the other packets there were no nuts. so two whole packs from the company and we still didn't have all of the parts. the shed was easy to put together once you get the hang of it. you would need two people for it. some holes didn't line up so we needed to drill some. it scratches and dents easily. we were very careful but we did have to move it and store it in our other shed to wait for the additional parts. if we didn't have to keep moving it there might not have been so many. we would not recommend this shed to friends or family.
Poor instructions, good inexpensive shed
This shed is thin and probably would not stand up to a strong storm. I plan on reinforcing a few sections with some scrap 2x4 (particularly the roof which is only attached through the thin sheets of metal rather than angle braces).
Accurate. I may update this review.
I liked the quality of the galvanized steel. Unfortunately 1/2 of the roof panels were not included in the contents. I canceled the order, on Saturday, July 10, after ordering it that day. They shipped the item on Monday, nevertheless. I assembled the shed, after it arrived on July 14, previous to my birthday. Am still waiting for Walmarts response, as 1/2 of the roof has still not arrived. Meaning the value, is $0.0 to a real estate agent, as it is subpar, without the actual factory roof, supplied in the box of contents. Am not sure, if it is ghetto area, with related drug proliferation, and urban blight, as far as why a refund, has not been issued. As 99% of the earth's, would hopefully still be reputable outlets. Now it is 10 days, after I cancelled the order. And after, notifying Walmart, of the problem, still no parts have been sent, to finish the project. Even though urban blight, may be the problem, if it was referred to an alternate city, where business standards are still relevant and parts sent in a timely fashion, or 50% of the cost refunded. It perhaps, could be valued by a real estate agent, or a tax assessor, at more than $0.0, as I could possibly find somewhat similar roof panels, or custom design myself, before winter.
Well ... the good news is the Ezee Shed arrived on time and in one package. The not so great news is I would rather have to use more screws rather than the "Ezee" clip technique that locks the side walls in place. It's very awkward and the click that indicates it's really connected isn't heard. As a result of the clip technique, some of the pieces lock themselves together and have to be unlocked carefully when checking all the pieces. Some pieces arrived with their edges bent or slightly dented and had to be bent back into shape. I have built three metal sheds prior to this one and, to my mind, the metal seems much thinner than past sheds although I don't recall if they were the "Ezee" brand. In short, good price but perhaps not a shed that will last. Definitely not a shed you want to purchase if you are short of patience.
I am giving this a 3 because once put together it is as described a shed to store tools. And when I reached out to support they answered.
Ezee Shed
Pure torture
For the love of god if you’re thinking about buying this shed, do not do it. I’m a seasoned war veteran and this shed assembly was by far the biggest challenge of my life. The panel mating and locking system is horrendous. It deserves a place in the engineering hall of shame. They’re a pain to snap in. Then they snap out when you try to cap the wall. Then after you have tried to snap it in a second or third time the mating surface is completely warped and you will not be able to connect them securely. Ontop of that, the hardware supplied for me was short about 25 nuts which resulted in a trip to the hardware store to purchase parts which should have been included. The screws themselves are poor quality as well. You could build a better shed out of popsicle sticks and glue. Please do not buy this.
Looks good. Arrived a few weeks after the floor and now dealing with wet weather so haven't been able to get it up yet. Everything looks great though and I'll update review if my view changes or there are any issues that arise. *UPDATE* HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE. IT IS A LITTLE FLIMSY BUT FOR A SHED THAT'S UNDER 400$ THATS TO BE EXPECTED. INSTRUCTIONS WERE A LITTLE CONFUSING BUT IT WAS KINDA A NO BRAINER. THE CUSTOMER THAT HAD HELPERS AND CONSIDER THEMSELVES HANDY BUT COULDN'T ASSEMBLE THIS SHED IS CONFUSING TO ME. MY HUSBAND HAD NO ISSUES ASSEMBLING THIS HIMSELF SO I REALLY FIND THEIR REVIEW CONFUSING AND MISLEADING. WE BOUGHT THE FLOOR FOR THIS SHED ALSO AND PUT SOME WOOD ON TOP. I THINK IT LOOKS GREAT AND WILL SERVE ITS PURPOSE. WORTH IT! I'M KEEPING MY 5 STAR RATING BECAUSE I AM COMPLETELY SATISFIED. ITS REALLY NOT AS BAD AS SOME REVIEWERS SAY.
The ordering process was easy and the item was delivered well before the projected delivery date. The product is one of the most flimsy and frustrating assembly projects I have ever experienced. While the box was undamaged, there were a number of pieces bent and dented. The snap together panels come disconnected if you try to move the wall panel. Most of the component parts are numbered and some (very few) of the numbers are even legible. My kit was missing one of the corner clips and I had to wait for a replacement to be shipped from the US before completing the assembly. While I have this shed anchored to a concrete base, I am afraid that the first wind is going to blow it into a crumpled ball in my neighbors yard. Please remove this item (and any others from this company) from your catalogue.
