The filter seems to do a decent job, get the upgraded d40 filter for better water, but it does slow the flow down some. Still worth it. Install may require a trip to get some adapters

Great tasting water!

We've used this Culligan D40A level 4 carbon filter cartridge in our Culligsn US-600 under sink kitchen filter housing for years. It's connected to a dedicated drinking water tap and really improves the taste of our well water. For us it's well worth the restricted flow rate (.6 gpm). The cartridge life is rated at 6 months or 600 gallons; I replace it yearly which admittedly pushes its limits. Its life depends largely on usage and source water quality.

The TDS reading is the on the inlet (tap water) side of the filter as the outlet side (filtered water) side. TDS reading is 350 ppm

Many years using D-40A cartridge - good drinking water

The D-40A cartridge filters our cold water under the kitchen sink which also supplies our refrigerator. Keeps the water tasting clean.

I have been using Culligan's D40a 0.5 micron filter cartridges for several years. The whole house city water filtration is achieved with a Culligan D10a, and the D40a filters the kitchen cold water supply. It refines the water for drinking and for the refrigerator ice maker. Ice and cold water tap provide taste-free water as a result.

Be careful. Filter is too restricting.

I couldn't use this filter as it restricted the water flow to the faucet. I probably purchased the wrong filter

Our water for drinking and cooking is extremely pure. It taste great. No cons! Pros easy to use. It’s a great product a little pricey. I would recommend it to others. I will continue to purchase it.

Fits older Omni water filters.

Had to go with this filter because Omni changed the diameter of replacement filters, and the Culligan fits my older Omni filter.

Clean water in five minutes

I can tell when my water filter needs changed. The weak pressure is a tell tale sign. The filter is very easy to change and can be done in five minutes or less. These filters do a great job of removing the bad stuff. My filters clean water for the ice maker and the drinking water fountain.

Just wish these filters weren't so expensive. We have pipes leading into our home that contain lead, so the less expensive filters won't work for us. I have to change it at least 2x year to keep my family safe.

Not too happy with it

After install in an RV . Slow down the water a lot. Even use it with the regulator still slow flow

Works great...I used the lower grade filter that came in the housing when I first bought it and thought that water tasted good...I had no idea I could have tasty water from my Refrigerator dispenser.

Best cartridge for undersink water filters.

We live in San Diego County, which is great except for the quality, taste, etc. of our tap water, which comes largely from the downstream end of the Colorado River. We have been using this type of cartridge, or its equivalent, for many years now for the second faucet I added to our kitchen sink. This provides effective and highly economical purification of our tap water, without the high cost and water waste inherent in a reverse osmosis unit.
