New design won't stop leaking
I've been a zerowater user for many many years, and though I love the filters, they're always seems to be some kind of challenge with the pitchers. With this most recent design they've stuck the water tester into the lid so now the top reservoir only holds a tiny bit of water for you to be able to pour from the pitcher or else it will leak water everywhere (see second picture).
A great product that works as described. The TDS meter is a useful addition too. We have had no issues achieving a 0.0 reading and the water tastes fantastic.
Zero water pitchers are the best!
I have been using Zerowater pitchers for many, many years and have been completely satisfied with the taste of the water and the performance of the filters. By periodically checking the TDS reading, washing the pitcher thoroughly before attaching a new filter, and placing the pitcher in the refrigerator after use, the water tastes refreshing and to perfection. In addition I have found customer service prompt and courteous to address and help with questions or concerns that I may have had. Zero water products are well worth the cost. I have more than one pitcher and would rate them 10 star.
The Zero Water brand filtration pitcher has been the best I’ve used through the years. I recently purchased this to replace a 5-gallon water cooler in my kitchen and it has been a game changer. This is the only brand that eliminates all impurities from your drinking water and leaves it completely pure. The water tastes better than any bottled water and costs less per ounce as well. This pitcher is large but still fits conveniently on the kitchen counter or top shelf of the fridge. This Zero Water pitcher was less than $50 to initially purchase at Target. It included one (1) filter and a water meter to measure water impurities. The replacement filters are much more expensive than other brands. However, they leave the water more pure and tasting so much better. The Zero Water brand line of products are an ongoing repeat purchase for my home. I cannot recommend it enough.
I first learned about Zero water from a client who worked testing water for a large company and raved that this was the best water filtration system. Fast forward many, many years later, when I was diagnosed with a thyroid issue, and the doctor recommended I filter my water because the thyroid was compromising my immune system. I had been purchasing very good bottled water prior to this point but felt that I was not helping nature with all those plastic bottles. Remembering my client's high praises of Zero water over 10 years prior, I bought this dispenser. I thought I had great bottled water, and I still do however, this system was a step up from that. The water tastes, do I dare say, pristine. I love that you can use the spout or pour your water. The tester that comes with the system is very easy to use and lays conveniently in a slot at the top of the lid. It has never fallen out when tilting the dispenser or removing the lid to fill it. I absolutely love this water filter, and you will as well.
Quick fill spigot is not fast at all
I was giving the opportunaty to try out this filter free. The "Quick fill spigot" is stiff and is stiff and requires some strength to push cometely AND is not fast at all. Its so slow that it is a refrainer to buy one filter for myself. I was giving the opportunaty to try out this filter free. The "Quick fill spigot" is stiff and requires some strength to push cometely AND is not fast at all. Its so slow that it is a refrainer to buy one filter for myself. I was considering buying their biggest filter i believe (30 cup filter), only because of the "Quick fill spigot". Lol they advertize (falsely) "quick fill spigot" in each of their filters ads so its all the same quality. If they would only remove the word Quick by something else, i'd be a satisfied customer.
Zero means ZERO impurities. Crystal Clear Water!!!
Zero means ZERO impurities! I'm buying my second ZeroWater pitcher to use for room-temperature water (coffee maker, cat's water fountain, etc.). The little tester on the lid made me a believer! I've now removed the charcoal filters from my coffee maker and elsewhere because the water from the ZeroWater pitcher is perfect!
Pitcher has flawed design
I love Zerowater's filtration, but the pitcher designs are seriously flawed. I have one at work and one at home, and have had to replace two pitchers due to cracking. I also have trouble with the lids staying on and not just falling off when pouring. Anyway, I replaced my home pitcher which had mysteriously cracked on the bottom for no apparent reason with this model. This one is marketed as being able to pour right away, but is worse than the old design. It's impossible to move this pitcher out of the sink to 2 feet away on my counter without water sloshing everywhere. This new uncracked pitcher leaks more water than the old cracked one! I wish I had bought the old design. It's infuriating that this company charges $30 for a piece of plastic that is brittle and they didn't even seem to test.
Zero Water Filter Pitcher
Gave it a 4 star because haven't opened it yet, (and see below).
WEIRD smell+tasting Zero filters, ill-fitting lids
(I'd say 2.25 stars, maybe). At FIRST, the water from this pitcher is amazing! However, SOMETHING happens to the filter about 2-4 weeks into it, on average, where it starts to smell and taste like fish/pee. This has happened to us now FOUR times in a row with TWO different pitchers (same model) and with four different filters, bought at different times. I returned the first model bc of the fishy smell and the fact that the lid would not fit on properly (and falls off every time you pour from it). Also, the spout was SUPER slow to pour. My replacement pitcher had ALL of the exact same problems; Ill-fitting lid, fishy/pee tasting water after HALF of the recommended life expectancy (per our region), and slow pouring spout. If you can afford to replace the most expensive filter out there every couple of weeks, and don't mind the very annoying hardware issues, go for it. We're already back to buying jugs of water, even though we have extra filters to go through. That weird smell from the filters is concerning.
How I Use this Product
I have clean glass bottles in which the filtered water is stored in my refrigerator. With the new filter in place, I fill the top. When the water is completely filtered, I remove the part containing the filter, then pour about 4 ounces into a glass. I test the water with the tester that comes with the pitcher. I then pour the cleaned water into the glass bottles. I put the filter piece back, pour water into the top, remove the filter piece when the water is completely filtered, test it (YES! TEST EVERY PITCHER FULL!) The reason I do this is because some days, it doesn't take very many fills to get to a 6 reading. If I run out of glass bottles before the water reaches a 6, I dry out the pitcher, dry out the top section, and pat off the water on the outside of the filter and top section, turn the filter holder sideways on the top of the pitcher, and let the entire pitcher dry out. I put the pitcher lid in a different spot. When a filter reaches 6, I take out the filter, wash the filter-holder section with a mild dish soap, followed by rinsing and drying thoroughly, carefully put in a new filter, and repeat the process. I order many filters at a time, and I go onto the website to download a label and form in order to send the filters to recycling.
Good tasting water
I received product for free through City program to remove lead. The water does taste good and the picture as a nice spigot feature at the bottom. This is the highest rated water pitcher for removing lead and other particles of those on the market. There are a couple of things that could be improved upon. First, the pitcher is quite heavy when full but you'd need the large pitcher for all the water you consume, however, it would be great if they could figure out how to shrink the filter so it wouldn't take up so much room. Second, the pour spout is somewhat flimsy so you have to take care pouring water or it will end up all over. Third, the dispenser at the bottom seem to release water too slow to hold the refrigerator door open for the time. If the pitcher sits on a counter that wouldn't be a problem. Finally, you need to wait until the water filters through the reservoir otherwise you end up getting water all over the place when the pitcher is tilted for pouring and this takes a bit of time.
Best water filter on the market
Now-a-days when my family needs to purchase a new product, I will do a lot of online research to make sure that we are buying something that will fit our needs, while giving us the best bang for our hard earned buck.
Replacement Filters Need Improvement
I bought this pitcher at Bed, Bath and Beyond after water in my area began to make me sick (heartburn, stomach pain, throat irritation, etc.). Digital tester that came with the pitcher indicated my tap water had 185 ppl contaminants and it had a slight musty odor. The first time I used the pitcher, I had to filter the same water 3 times to finally get a zero reading on the digital tester. The water was clear, tasted fresher, had no smell, and did not give me the side effects previously experienced from the tap water. One negative of using the original filter - a few particles from Stage 3 and Stage 4 washed back into the reservoir (not in the pitcher) after each filtration. I would wipe them out before the next use. Subsequent fillings of the pitcher got a zero reading on the digital tester after just one filtration. After 3 months, the digital tester had a reading of 009 after filtering the same water 3 times, so I changed the filter. The replacement filter does not have the Stage 2 filter as I can plainly see Stage 3 and Stage 4 granules moving around under the Stage 1 screen filter. There is almost an inch of visible space between the screen and the granules. Many more particles wash back into reservoir during each new filtration than they did using the original filter. I have to run each refill through the filter twice to obtain a zero rating. Once I achieve the zero rating, the water is as fresh tasting and smelling as water I filtered using the original filter. Zerowater should ensure that all five stages are actually included in each replacement filter and packed well to keep them in their appropriate levels throughout the life of the filter. Having to filter the water twice or 3 times obviously diminishes the amount of filtered water I can get out of each filter. Since replacement filters are costly, lowering the filtration criteria is very unfair to the consumer. We should be able to expect the filter standards are the same whether we are using the original or a replacement filter. If the replacement filters were improved, I would give this product 5 stars.
