Best Company to deal with

I was looking for a great wood type floor and found it at Build.com

Great choice!!!

We are extremely happy with our new Shaw floor. It is very durable with our many dogs. The walnut color is very impressive and goes great with our decor.

Waterproof and Beautiful

I've wanted to post a review on this product since there is little on the web about it. Fortunately I have a local place to see sample boards, then I ordered a box to see the real product with all the variations. For my cottage I chose the Harvest Oak. It is a beautiful warm (and golden) somewhat knotty floor. I ran it though the entire place even in the bathrooms and kitchen and its beautiful. So far it seems to be just as tough as a normal wood floor. The important difference here are the layers. This product has a LVP bottom with a micro layer of real wood on top, then a waterproof coating over the whole thing. It's very stable and you lay it like LVP. We floated ours but it can be glued. There is a video online of someone installing the Hickory and he submerged a piece for two weeks in water to see performance. It passed. Another viewer said she wanted more cushioning underneath. I don't think that is good or possible. It's not a Pergo type floor, more like a real wood floor which is why I chose it. I think the down side is there are no flat transition pieces say to butt up to tile. A slightly rounded over-piece is used which to me looks hokey, but that is the nature of an LVP floor. Since we used it throughout I didn't have to use this type of trim piece. There are nice bull-nosed pieces for the edge of the top of a staircase (I carpeting the stairs). So in closing I would say YAY to the waterproof nature and the stability of LVP, but remember the top layer is a micro thin layer of wood with a durable finish, so treat it as a wood floor. Hope this helps!

Love my new flooring

I'm really happy with the look of this flooring. It is light and bright, yet has enough variation to hide some of the dirt. It might have been a good idea to add another layer of padding under. The padding attached is thin and I think it could benefit from some extra sound absorbtion.

Sample size too small to tell. But shipping fast!

I only bought a sample so the review is on that experience only. Shipping was fast. Quality of material was good. Only complaint would be the size of the sample. It was one small VERY dark portion of the plank. It would have been nice to see the contrast. You can see there are light parts to the wood in the online photo but the cut we received didn’t have any light portions. so it was impossible to make a complete decision and we based ours solely on the dark portion, which we found to be too dark. We ended up finding something lighter elsewhere.

Beautiful but Easily Scratched

I love everything about this flooring except that it dings and scratches VERY easily. As little as a small dropped screw will leave a puncture mark or dent, and it cannot be repaired. I paid a premium for waterproof but now fear durability may be an issue.
