Great quality but not big enough for maine coons

So I wanted a carrier that my coonie could sit up in but that she would not hurt herself, nor be able to break her teeth trying to chew her way out. She doth protest all carriers. She freaks out. She hates being confined and I know she's calmer when I can hold her against me and peak in on her. I would say for this feature, this carrier is great. I love how your pet can still see you but it's easier to strap into your front car seat and put a blanket over in case your cat gets motion sickness or is very timid like mine is. But despite it's very tall height, and this height being tall enough for my maine coon no less!, it's not very big. She can lay down in it curled up into a ball but she is a runt of the litter and still about 13 lbs and 40 inches fully stretched out. I wanted one a bit snug because she will of course try to escape, but this is still a bit too snug. It's great though if you're going to the vet and it's not a long trip but one time I had to take her to the ER in this and we sat for hours. I could tell she was uncomfortable long term. this would be PERFECT if it was 16 inches across and 14 inches extending out. Overall the quality is there. It's easy to clean and very sturdy. It's really nice it unzips at the top so you can give your kitty tube treats and pet them.

Quality

I bought four of these, one for each cat in case of an emergency. They’re really sturdy, one of my cats is a big boy (20 lb+ Maine coone mix) and I even put him in there for vet appointments. One of my cats pooped on themselves on a trip to the vet (lol) but it was easy to wash off and when I got home I took apart the bottom thing that they sit on and it’s removable and washable and it’s kinda amazing. It also has lots of meat so I’m not afraid of suffocating anyone, and there’s room for other things in the pocket(s?). I’d totally recommend.

Pretty Good Overall

Overall I was pretty happy with this product. My dog is right at the limit for this backpack (18 lbs), and it did feel like it was a touch tight. My only other complaint is that the side zippers can be a little difficult to close when the dog is in the backpack, since you have to zip along the bottom of the backpack/the floor. Would be better to have the flap open from the bottom vs. the side, to make it easier to zip closed. Dog seems to like the backpack though.

It's okay...

Product took way to long to get here and was delayed a few days (not chewy fault) but my biggest issue would be it came damaged. Both ends of the zippers are supposed to have safety clips on it but one side was completely missing. The bag details also says it can hold a pet up too 16 pounds but my yorkie is only 7pounds and it kinda cuts it close. Any bigger and he wouldn't have even room in my opinion.

Backpack so nice I bought it twice

Very comfortable for me to wear. I’ve had one for a year for my 13lb senior cat and she has enough room to sit up or bread loaf at the bottom. It doesn’t sag at the bottom. When I’m driving I got a seatbelt attachment from chewy and I wrap it around the top handle to buckle her in. It comes with the water bowl and I can fit snacks, her leash, harness, food and such in it with space. It doesn’t seem hot for them either the ventilated windows opposed to the plastic windows I’ve seen on other carriers. In the inside there’s a removable bottom part the pet sits on that you can take out to clean. I also like that there’s mini clips on the zippers so they can’t sneak out. Got a second one for my new kitten, it’s very big for him but I know he has room to grow.

Meets my needs perfectly

Good visibility for my dog while sitting up with all doors zipped. Enough space for my dog to lay down comfortably. Easy to train to get in the side door on their own. Pack has enough adjustment to find a good fit for my comfort. Would be a nice feature to add a padded waist strap. Even our small dogs (10lbs) are a heavy load on a long walk.

Great backpack, especially for small/medium cats

I bought this for my tiny 6lb cat, and it’s perfect for her- super roomy & easy to carry on my back. My bigger cats (13lbs) also fit, but it’s definitely snug for them, so more suitable for a trip to the vet than a long ride! I really like that it has so many safety straps- you can clip all openings shut after zipping, which gives extra peace of mind, and it has an internal “leash” if you wanted to clip a harness to prevent your pet from jumping out. The side & front pockets are great for holding treats or paperwork or w/e. Overall, I recommend this, especially for smaller kitties!!

Not comfortable

I was really looking forward to getting this carrier. Unfortunately, it’s flimsy. My puppy is 16 lb and she was ok being in it on the floor, which was good. The problem was when I carried her, the bottom pad pushed hard against my lower back. Even though I adjusted all straps to alleviate the uneven distribution couldn’t find a comfortable position. Im returning it.

Cat carrier

It was a gift for my son and his cat, Jade, who is indoor only. This gift is perfect except I should have ordered a larger size of the pink harness for her. She's 7 pounds so I thought it would fit. Otherwise, he and she love it. She is going to be 16 next summer so I wanted her to be able to enjoy the outdoors comfortably. We adopted her at 8 months. Thank you as always Chewy!

I would buy again

I spent a few days trying to find a backpack for my kitten that had the best quality for a reasonable price. I’m very happy with my purchase, it is sturdy and I have used it for taking my kitten on hikes and to the vet. It’s a good size but my only complaint is that I fear my kitten is going to get too large for it. I think it works best for a smaller cat.

Cute, but a bit snug

I have a 10lb calico shorthair and I think this bag is a little small for her. She can sit in it and lay in it, but there isn't really room for her to move around and she doesn't like being confined. It's probably better for a smaller cat, maybe a good transition bag for kittens. It's a nice color and feels very sturdy.

Nice and sturdy

This back carrier is a good size and sturdy construction. It's still new to me so I can't say how long it will last yet. I do appreciate that PetAmi has so many color options. That is one reason I was swayed to buy one from them. I also appreciate the water cup. My dog does currently fit inside this, although if he grows much more, he will outgrow it. He is about 13 pounds now and can still move around inside easily.

Great for bus trips to the dog park!

I'm on a month-long visit to a city where I have to take this bus, and the public transit system insists on "caged" animals, so my usual carry sling wasn't good enough. This was great for taking my 10 pound dog on bus trips, and the pockets were great for tossing in my wallet and a few accessories in order to travel light to the dog park. She seems comfortable in the carrier, and the backpack straps make it easy to bring along. I've only worn it backpack style with her in it once or twice, but the weight distribution was fine, maybe just a bit awkward. However, I usually walk her with the pack on my back, and then put her in and carry by the top handle when it is time to board the bus. It fits nicely on my lap.

Great for smaller cats who don't mind being enclosed

Our human minion bought this to give us all a chance to be outside with her. For other cats, it's a great product. Our minion says it's pretty comfortable, and she was pleased with the design and the collapsible water dish that comes with it. We, however, will have nothing to do with it. We siblings are around 10 lbs, and it seems barely tall enough for us, with not much space. We have refused to go in it no matter how many pieces of freeze dried chicken she puts inside. She tricked our 8 pound mother into going in it, but she meowed "let me out" for the entire 5 minute walk. Perhaps in time we might get used to it, but our minion is seriously considering retuning it. Not because there's anything wrong with it, but because it's not much use if we won't go inside it. It's a great idea for a kitten or smaller cat to get them used to it, but thus far, we are not impressed.

Pros and cons, mostly pros.

Pros: it's my cat's favorite carrier, we've tried quite a few. He can comfortably sit or lay down.

Solid cat backpack

Very happy with my purchase. Big enough for either one of my cats (the larger of which is a 10 lb male) with room to spare. I haven't been great on my adventure/leash cat training but this also makes a nice travel carrier- much more comfortable to carry than the handle kind when walking longer distances. I've also used it in the car. Both cats like being inside and will sometimes go in just for fun when I'm not taking them anyplace. A little bulky as a backpack but understandably so considering the size animals it can fit. I'm glad I went with this one rather than the smaller version.

Airplane backpack

I just completed 2 flights with my kitty in her backpack. It did not fit under the seat in front (when laid on it's back), so take off left me with no place for my feet. I had friendly seat neighbors who let me splay my legs around the backpack, but as soon as we were in the air, I put backpack on my lap, and it was perfect. The sides were strong enough for me to rest my arms. The backpack was comfy--she willingly crawled in it--moreso than her hardsided kennel. The side pockets were great for food, litter, and collapsing bowl and litter box. Zipper compartment was for paperwork. Mesh provided ventilation--it got stuffy waiting for takeoff.

Backpack Carrier

I bought this very early on, even before I got my pet. And I finally got to use it today! I am very happy with this purchase. My kitten is 6lbs, but pretty long already and fit very comfortably in the carrier. It was so comfortable for me too. It laid right in the middle of my back, and my cat was laying down, so the weight was distributed evenly. I also noticed that there was a claps inside, for when I start taking my cat out with his harness for walking. I like that the zippers have clips for addd safety. And though I choose the generic black, I like all the color options. My cat at first was scared but quickly got used to it and slept the whole ride to the vet. I also like that o could carry it from the top or hold it in my arms.

We own two!

Having left #1 at another location and now needing to fly to that location, we now own two! It’s a better option for a wiggly heavy cat than a bag if you’re flying. It does take up all available under-seat space and kitty will change where he sits lays from on back to laying under seat. My guy seems to love it! And having used a gym bag style with previous cats (female) who were smaller and less rambunctious than this guy, I’m very pleased to have him on my back with good straps and front strap too for stability vs. on a shoulder strap trying to navigate airports. It is heavier than the gym bag style but still my choice for plane or train travel, or short trip car travel. Even a walk to corner store. :)
