Solid Rack System for Home Workshop

I bought two of these Toughsystem racks for my home workshop. Each rack has two horizontal support beams (one near the top and another near the bottom. The left and right rails slide through each horizontal support. Each horizontal support has multiple slots to make it easier to align wall fasteners with the studs. There are two addition brackets included for extra support near the middle of each vertical rail. I mounted these in my home workshop which has 1/2 drywall secured to the studs. To make things easier to mount without worrying about lining each rack up so I could hit the studs, I cut three 2x4's at 53 inches each and secured them to the studs using 3 inch deck screws (2 screws in each 2x4 for each stud). Placed one near the top and bottom to line up with the horizontal supports included with the system. The third 2x4 was secured midway between the top and bottom supports (about 56" from the floor). I placed both rack system next to each other and secured them to the 2x4s using 1/4 3" lag screws through the supports into the 2x4s. This was especially helpful when securing the adjustable center supports since I didn't have to line them up with the studs. Both racks are also secured to my floor using 4 3" lag screws for each rack. Both racks are full with toughsystem 1.0 and 2.0 tool boxes. I used a few adapters to attach organizers to my two drawer boxes as well.

Excellent product and good value

Great product for creating a flexible storage system. Installed in the garage so tools are handy and can be easily removed to take where needed. The rack is very sturdy and comes with more than enough bars for different configurations.

Takes some time to setup. But is a must have and works great!

Moving to an HCOL city soon and downsizing. So my setup needed to be portable but efficient.

This is actually the second tough system storage rack that I own. I use both in my box trailer I use for daily construction even though they are not manufactured for that. They work great and hold up great. I actually expected them to break from the bounce of driving loaded. However I have used one for over a year now and the second for a couple months and never had any problems. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it would be nice if the arms folded out of the way like on the tough system cart when not in use.

The product arrived in good condition, but arrived later than unexpected. However, I was looking for more components that would fit the stacking system, besides just tool boxes. I thought the Dewalt trays would fit it too, as shown in a photo, however they do not. I am keeping it, but wish Dewalt would adapt a shelf or tray that would fit the rack. Thank you

I ordered the 2.0 Tough System tool box set and thought this rack would be a perfect complimemt and make getting the tools in and out a lot easier, which it did. Overall, I’m pleased with the rack, but frankly i was disappointed that it did NOT come with fasteners to connect to the wall. Additionally, the install on this relatively straight forward rack was frustrating. While i would recommemd this rack to others, i think DeWalt could and should have done mich better.

Must have for small storage and pros.

I’ve been killing myself with $10 bins from the box hardware store. The Dewalt tough system as a lifesaver, timesaver, money maker, and money well spent. It’s easy to keep your tools organized with lots of different options for storage boxes and when you show up to your clients job they just feel better seeing that you’re organized and ready to work.

These are perfect for my needs. I mounted them in my enclosed trailer. Three of them for my DeWalt tool boxes. Two of them for shelving. Strong and sturdy, at an excellent price. I recommend them to anyone. You can’t go wrong with them.

Straightforward assembly. I only used the 6 wall-mount connection points and not the floor mounts to see if it was sturdy enough without drilling into concrete floor. Seems more than solid since 6 wall mounts are into studs. Was able to store 5 boxes of various sizes with the supplied arms and leave enough space in between to open lids enough to access tools within boxes. Works out really nice and cleared up a lot of space. Only downside I see is the arms do not fold in like they do on the mobile cart.

These Dewalt toughsystem storage tool boxes are the best thing Dewalt has made! They are extremely durable. I have really put them through the test. Still use the first one I purchased 5 or 6 years ago. Now I have a little over 20 of them. All different sizes. So this Dewalt Workshop racking system has been a very useful addition to my collection. I have a couple in my shop. They are so convenient. Just unstack them and slide and right into place. It makes my shop a lot neater and organized. They also work well in the back of the van. Both of them right to the side of your van or enclosed trailer and you can slide your boxes right in. You don't have to unstack them all of the time to get to the one on the bottom. Great product need to buy a couple more. Well worth the money.
