These are thin flat pieces of styrofoam! I was disappointed with the quality, and returned them for the price and went with shiplap instead. But it makes sense that the light weight would help with easy install on a ceiling, just dont be shocked when they show up and their like wafers. They might be okay painted.

I LOVED the carton of tiles that I picked up from Home Depot. Unfortunately, I was short one tile, and had to order just one. The tile came from another location. It was the same design but made of a different material, thus making it more difficult to use.

Looks beautiful on my wall but when ordering didn't realize they were made of actual thin styrofoam. I was going for an interesting wall look - and got it - but now have to be super careful because walls now fragile - as walls. Would be perfect for ceilings which don't get wear and tear. Easy to glue into place. I have had several compliments. May add pics once the room is done.

These are a bit different than expected. So I misread 1.6 feet = 19.2 inches NOT 1 ft 6 inches. NBD (they ended up measuring 19.5 inches in reality)

[Rewarded Review] The master bedroom

This is my 3rd ceiling project and probably my favorite. The design of this tile is very interesting- once installed you are able to see the amazing pattern of wreath, diamond and intersecting lines. It creates a expansive and elegant look.

Tile Quality Glue will Void Warranty Customer Service terrible

I installed these tiles a year ago using Loctite Powergrab, the glue ate through the Styrofoam, voiding the warranty. Home Depot stands behind its products even when the manufactures will find any loophole they can to void the warranty and not replace the tiles. I found Decorative Tiles (the manufacturer) unprofessional and literally some guy (julio) that works from a cell phone in a basement some where. Not a great company to work with when warranty issues happen.

Perfect for Our Project

I got these for my laundry room remodel. I rolled them with white primer before spraying them with chalkboard white and gold to give them a old, used, distressed look. (as they are styrofoam, they must be primed before spraying, the aerosol will burn though). Once installed you would never guess these were styrofoam. Couldn't be happier with the price or the results. I’v been asked it they were pulled from and old building. Super easy to install over the existing popcorn ceiling using liquid nails. It did take a few tries to find the right amount of adhesive and what pattern to make it stick. Too much liquid nails gives too much weight. We plan to finish the edges with crown molding.

I originally wanted a tin ceiling but it was not affordable. Then I thought of getting the plastic faux tiles but builder didn't like the way the seams fit. We looked at these styrofoam tiles and watched videos on YouTube on installation. I decided to try these. The installation was easy and they look amazing. I highly recommend caulking the seams. Then prime and paint the tiles. Looks like plaster or tin but actually much nicer and for 1/3 the cost!

POOR Quality!

I am not sure who the others are that reviewed this product . The material is the same as a styrofoam meat tray but even thinner. It glistens/sparkles like your typical styrofoam. Upon opening The box, I was immediately disappointed. I decided to try taping up one of the so called tiles to see what it would look like. It looked like I had stuck a piece of Styrofoam on my ceiling, no doubt about that. Again I'm not sure about the other reviews that were written because they were all very positive. I have a feeling they may have been stacked reviews because The product was nothing like what they described. Needless to say I returned it to the store. Take my advice and do not purchase this product, it is not worth any money you might want to spend.

Clean and classy look!

My husband was a little skeptical before starting this project. Using styrofoam for ceiling tiles took a bit of convincing. We were happily impressed by the ease of installation and the classy look when the project was finished. I think the ceiling tiles were a little expensive considering that they were made out of styrofoam, but the ease and effect was well worth it. It took less than a day to complete a 9 x 13 kitchen.
