Strong mold smell, damaged/defective product

These had a VERY strong mold/mildew smell, as well as a number of tears, loose threads, and other defects. I probably should have just returned them but I’m attempting a thorough hot water wash against manufacturer instructions to try to get the smell out because i like the color and I don’t really care about them being pristine for what I need them for. I suspect they won’t last long since they were already coming apart in places.

[Rewarded Review] Lovely Color, but Inconsistent Dye

These are such vibrant placemats! These bright pink placemats are such a fun and simple way to dress up your table setting. The “Flamingo” color is great for spring and summer and looks so nice paired with both my pastel floral and bold tropical tablecloths. I can even see this color being great for Palm Springs inspired decor. They feel well made with thick material and solid stitching, so I feel like they will last for years to come. They are also larger than I was expecting, so they’re perfect for a base layer for a place setting. However, I am taking off a star because there seems to be an issue with the dye. They all have these areas where the dye seems to be darker in weird lined patterns. It’s not even uniform amongst the set, so it just pulls away from the rest of the beauty of the placemats. It’s a shame because they are otherwise a great value and a fun decor piece.
