We returned this mantel. It had lines on both the top and front that were clearly manufactured. The lines increased in size in a pattern that didn’t look natural. I suppose it was to make it look weathered. We didn’t think it looked like the images on the website. Other than that the quality seemed excellent.

The mantel I received was so warped that items placed on top would slide off. The slot on the back didn't fit the metal bracket so the mantel wouldn't sit flush to the wall on the bracket. I received a replacement mantel, but the replacement was in worse condition - it was warped, very rough, stained a different color, and had large marks from manufacturing. I ended up keeping the first mantel and modifying it myself in order to make it sit close to level and flush to the wall. Rating 1 star because of the condition of both mantels I received. The customer shouldn't have to modify the product just to make it work. Obviously there are positive reviews, so your mileage may vary, but I did not have a good experience.

Very nice and beam support is strong. The website photos made it look more modern but it’s pretty rustic looking. It’s solid, that’s for sure. I appreciate the craftsmanship of this piece.

Not too bad for the price we were not expecting super quality finish. Good thing because they slobbered some wood filler on both ends. I will now have to sand down and refinish as this is a mantle.

I bought unfinished and it is truly rough. I will need to sand it before putting it up. I should have bought a large piece if wood from the lumber yard and cut to size for a fraction of the price. Not worth the price.

I bought two of the 24” shelves and will be returning them. The aged oak color is much warmer than it appears in the photos. The finish is also extremely rough which wasn’t clear in the photos. I ran my hand across the top of the shelf and got a splinter. You’d never be able to dust these without a cloth getting snagged. If the top and bottom was as smooth as the front edge I think they’d be much more useable. They are very heavy and sturdy and seem well made, however.

Beautiful, heavy, and solid mantle piece. Too bad the quality of the workmanship suffered, thus rendering it 4 instead of 5 stars. The channel that holds the support bracket was cut too short, making the support bracket overlap and not sit flush. So i had to chisel it out to make it fit. The hole for the set screws did not align, rendering the set screws that were not, but were supposed to be included useless anyway. I was able to drill the necessary hole for some makeshift set screws to be able to secure the piece to the support rods. For the price paid, Im disappointed with the workmanship.

I purchased three of the 36" shelves. They are very heavy and solid. The bracket design made installation easy as you can place your shelf right where you want it and still hit a stud.

The wood is warped and the color was a lot deeper/orange than expecting. Ended up having to sand a restain it. If I didn't have a gift card I would've returned it.

These shelves are amazing. Easy to install and look fantastic. I couldn’t be happier!

Second time was the charm. First one was blemished and warped but a replacement arrived promptly. I left it in package 72 hrs to acclimate. Second one is slightly warped but well within my tolerance. The color looks great with our paint colors and the price was super reasonable.

I just installed a black modern fireplace with river stones. This compliments my design perfectly. I love it. Simple but perfect.

There were a couple of necks. I had to use some brown paint to cover, but it is exactly as described otherwise. We actually love this a lot. The surface is definitely weathered and rough, but it’s really great super easy to install.

Nice heavy piece of wood. Unfortunately we received the unfinished version which will cost us more to stainvarnish! The good thing about that is it will then match closer to the wood nearby.

These were darker than the Dogberry Collections Aged Oak fireplace mantel. I didn't think about the fact that they are made out of different woods. We like the color of these shelves however!

The color is much darker than the "aged oak" picture. More walnut. And the mount is not 3 prongs. Only two. Makes it much harder to hang.
