Could be sturdier for the price. Underneath slates are thin especially for little kids who tend to bounce on their beds. Also I was disappointed that I could not add a slide after I purchased the unit. I purchased some plastic risers to lift the bed up about 6 inches so my grandson could walk underneath and play.

It literally took us 35min to put together but it definitely takes two people! Good bed for a 5 year old girl! She loves playing under it and it is not to tall for her to climb up! We did add a handle like the grab bars you get for tubs. And we added no slip grip tape to the steps
