More Blackout Curtains

Reviews

I ordered two curtain panels for my room, in the color Indigo. They block out approximately 80-90% of the light on very sunny days. When I close my blinds as well, my room is 100% blacked out. Pictures taken on a day of full sunshine, no clouds in the sky. Thicker curtains than I expected for the price, so a great value. Nice material as well. I recommend them!

Just what I needed, I had one panel but wasn't enough. So happy to have found this exact one. Thanks so much.

great but read the details

the curtain is great! but i was foolish and didn't realize it was only one panel. and didn't come with a curtain rod. obviously I'm not much of an experienced home decorator because i went off the picture! don't just look at the picture!

Recommend buy

Color is spot on and gorgeous; however, I wouldn’t call these blackout curtains. They darken, but don’t blackout. Wonderful buy for the price. They look great.

Good curtains to keep room dark

Make sure that you order two panels. The picture is misleading. They work great as blackout curtains. They allow light to come through during the day and night it gets the room all dark.

These are just fine. Based on the questions and comments on the HD website, it appeared that there would be two curtains in ea pkg. However, that was not the case. It is just one panel, which I would have known if the either the description were more clear or they provided a picture in the packaging. The picture shows almost a pleating appearance. This is not the case. The curtains do not pleat as they do in the picture. They are fine for my purposes, which is to help block out the cold through the windows.

Too Short and Flimsy

I hung these curtains on my standard 63" windows and found that they still left about a one inch gap at the bottom, even with the rod installed at an even height with the top of the window. These curtains are also fairly thin and flimsy feeling.

These Curtains are definitely not blackout. I put them over my blinds and still a whole lot of light came through. So if your looking for blackout Curtains these aren't them. However they material is so soft and good quality for basic Curtains.

Uneven length

I really wanted to love these because the color is a true black and they’re blackout. From the seven I ordered only ONE panel was even on the length, they’re all off they look so uneven once there hung. The price is not cheap even when they’re on sale. I got some white sheer panels to go with these and I know it’s a different brand and that they’re not all going to be the same length because it’s a different brand but I only matched one panel because they’re so uneven one side is longer than the other. I’m going to have to return them and order new ones to see if they’re more even *fingers crossed*

2 Stars

Theses curtains were beautiful. But..... Blackout.? They didn't do the job. If it wasn't for my blinds and window panels, the room would have been light. I know I would have gotten better results from ordering Drapes with thick backing. I bought these curtains because I work late shift & had a problem sleeping in day time. These failed to darken my bedroom enough. I will keep them for another room because they are beautiful. I bought the color Natural.

They are almost as efficient as blocking light as the more expensive Eclipse brand, but not 100%. I bought 4 of these for my son's room (2 panels for 2 windows) and with window blinds, they keep the room pretty dark. I don't think they would be as effective without the blinds though. They were on sale and a great deal, about 1/3 of the price as the thicker Eclipse version. I'll keep them!

Not blackout

I bought these curtains because they were advertised as blackout. There is nothing even remotely blackout to these curtains. Yes, they are a dark color. And the color of plum is beautiful. However, they may as well be sheers. Except for the dark color, which would obviously let in a little less light than a light color, there is nothing else to block any light. Very disappointed, and will return them.

backing fell apart

Pretty color and appearance, but I washed them once and they became full of holes in the back! I can't use them any more because they look terrible. The backing stuck to itself in many places, even though I washed them in cold water for only 4 minutes and hung them to dry.

Good curtains for the price

We bought the 108" length for our theater room and they are great for blocking light. We absolutely love the price, and the effectiveness. They really do blackout the room.

Photo on JCP is Misleading

Curtains are clearly 42" not 48", I already knew I was going to have to have the width reduced, per the window is smaller than average. So that wasn't a big issue for me.
