Perfect in our beach rental
LOVE this rug! We recently updated a guest room in a beach rental cottage, and this rug pulled everything together with a casually sophisticated feel. It arrived quickly and was nicely packaged. It laid flat almost immediately and is much softer and thicker than I expected-- very comfortable on bare feet. The jute had one or two natural grass fibers sticking out, which were easy to trim before setting the furniture. Highly recommend, and I may purchase more for our bed & breakfast property.
Nice looking jute rug with a caveat.
This is a very nice looking kind of plush for jute rug (I have another from ikea which is not plush at all). I gave it 3 stars because there are places on it where it isn’t woven tight and is already coming apart (brand new) so I am unsure of the longevity of it. I live alone and have no pets or I would be sending this back. In my situation it will not take a beating since there is not heavy traffic in my hall.
Beautiful rug, but hard to care for
We had this rug in our dining room for four years before we finally got rid of it. It looked beautiful, but it was very hard to clean (vacuuming would pull at the jute fibers) and chair legs would get snagged between the weave. Also, our cat unfortunately had several accidents on it, and this was also very hard to clean (couldn't get in there with my wet vac like I normally do, because you can't scrub the jute and it doesn't do well when wet). Eventually we gave up and tossed it because it was beyond repair. The jute was also shedding quite a bit and collected a lot of dust. If you don't have pets or children and don't place it in a high-traffic area, it should be okay.
