Good product for the price!

This shelf is pretty sturdy and looks great the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it’s not a true black. Some of the wood grain has hints of very dark brown, while other parts of the are completely black. It’s not worth returning it because of this, but I don’t think I would order them again in black

Best Assembly Instructions Ever

Nearly every detail was provided in the instructions. I came to a step, wondered what to do next, then found the answer on the page. So refreshing to not have to guess at the assembly like so many other brands. The only thing I found missing was a recommendation to ensure the cabinet is square before nailing on the backing. Definitely do this to have a perfect looking bookshelf. If you don't have a square available, you can use a cabinet door.

Looks very nice however the back of the unit is made of thick cardboard not wood. It’s noticeably cheap looking and doesn’t look solid and can be seen. The rest of the unit is nice. Some nicks in shipping and building it was tiresome…

Beautiful cabinet for sure, very elegant looking and sturdy. However it is definitely not solid wood, it is particle board.

Very nice addition to my home office

Assembly was relatively simple and only required one person. Not all of the parts aligned perfectly, so there are some visible seams. Still, it has a very nice look for the price and fits my small office very well.

Relatively easy to construct (although it does take some time). Looks great, and feels strong.

Sleek

This bookcase is a nice size, we are thinking of ordering another since we could use more book shelf space... but love that there is a cabinet area to hide anything you don’t want to showcase.

Decent

I bought 3 of these bookcases to coordinate with the lighter colored executive desk in my home office. Was extremely pleased with the quality and veneer on the desk. These bookcases- not as much. Two came with superficial cracks on the side. The 3rd was in perfect condition. Fairly easy to put together. They look nice, just not as nice as the other sauder piece.

Looks great! We purchased 3 of these to line them up on a wall. Once I had one put together (the correct way) it was easy! There is one tip though, that is ONLY on the QR "help" video and NOT in the book, which is crucial to make sure your bookcase is straight. you measure the back corner to corner (in an X) and when each measurement is 77 1/4" it's straight. and therefore the doors line up. You're welcome.

The perfect bookcase for my needs

My friend helped me put it together, it took about 2 hours. It fits in my hallway perfectly. It was fairly easy, they included some extra parts but not too many. Directions were very clear. It matches the rest of my furniture and has a lot of storage. There's a shelf behind the cabinet doors too. Just remember to not put anything on the very top of it, it cannot support weight there. Overall, it's a beautiful bookcase and helped me to store my books properly. I'm glad I bought it.

I would buy it again

Sauder Libraries

So easy to assemble. We bought 3 of these libraries. The first one took 1 1/2 hours. After that it took about 1 hr each. Love the looks of the libraries but the finish is not as nice as some Sauder furniture we've previously owned. The edges are lacking the black finish which makes them look a little cheaper

Like the look!

I only gave it three stars because a couple of pieces where damaged. I had already unpacked everything and started to put it together so I decided to fix it myself instead of sending it back. I like the way it looks and it definitely serves its purpose. It was easy to assemble and after adjusting the doors they fit perfect. I agree with other reviews about the backboard. That definitely could have been thicker. I had a small crack in one of the sideboards and one piece was scraped. I also think that the plastic pieces should be metal. Overall I like it. It was packaged very well that is why I don't understand that a piece was scraped.

Good value but the back piece is a bit cheesy

The piece went together fairly easily. My only complaint is that it the shelves are pretty far apart (for normal-sized books you could use one more shelf), so you see the back piece of the the unit, which has a cheap look. If you could fill the shelves with books, it would be fine.
