This is not the flimsy, hollow kind. Light-weight foam keeps its shape and made it easy to attach. Matte finish prime was ready for painting with no seams or any mold marks to fix. Great.

We are very impressed

We bought this to go between our ceiling fan and ceiling in our bedroom. We are very impressed with the way it looks, and how it stayed flat after mounting the ceiling fan. We did run a bead of caulking right around the edges and the ceiling and then painted it with ceiling paint and it looks as though its a very expensive and handcarved cover. We will be buying these for the rest of our lights and ceiling fans in the house.

Perfect size, good quality, easy install!

We ordered 2 of these to go in out living/dining room. One is installed above a ceiling fan, the other is over a chandelier. They look amazing in our home, and add just a bit of character. These were better priced than anywhere we saw in store, and they are just as good of quality. They are very simple to install, and are definitely worth every penny. When we install ceiling fans in other parts of our home, we will definitely be ordering more.

Beautiful! But measure your bracket first!

Absolutely beautiful! Love the material. They were easy to paint. I highly suggest having someone help you install. It was a little hard doing it alone! But I would definitely buy these again. The only thing to note was my fixtures mounting bracket was larger than the inner whole. So I had to finagle the setup a bit.i had to use two mounting brackets and put the new bracket on the outside of the medallion! (see second picture) I would buy your light first and measure before hand so you don?t run into this issue!

The painting of this medallion was not as bad as I envisioned. Good value, looks great!

I originally purchased a pre-painted medallion because I didn't have experience painting faux finishes of brushed bronze. Unfortunately, the colors shown on the monitor are poor indicators of the actually painted product we received so it had to go back and I purchased this medallion that was only primed for painting. I went on YouTube to search for video instruction on how to create a oil rubbed bronze finish, bought two paints (sprayed bronze + antique gold) and did it myself. Came out looking really nice and Im NOT an artist. Overall happy with this purchase.

Looks great alongside other Colonial style trim

I went through a mind-boggling number of ceiling medallion designs before settling on the Melonie from Ekena Millwork. I was looking for a medallion that had a little bit of detail without being overly flowery/Grecian looking, which would not have fit the minimal Colonial style of the rest of the trim in my house. While egg-and-dart or a totally plain circular style would technically have been the most historically accurate for the period, I wanted something that would play off the modern/Midcentury globe light that would hang from the medallion, and this design was the right balance between statement and restraint. It was far more lightweight than I expected - the weight of styrofoam - which was a blessing because it took a lot of arm power to hold up the fixture as well as the medallion while simultaneously doing the wiring! I did have to drill holes in the medallion to accommodate the width between the screws from the junction box plate, which was as easy as cutting through butter, and was covered up by the fixture itself. I didn't follow the instruction to use construction adhesive to stick the medallion to the ceiling, because I would need to remove it if I ever needed to change the light fixture in the future, but I did use latex caulk around the edge of the medallion (not pictured here) to make it look more built in to the original architecture. I also painted the medallion with the same semi-gloss paint as the rest of the trim in my house, before putting it up.

Exactly what I was looking for! I purchased a chandelier from Wayfair (Raegan chandelier) for my art studio and I wanted an ornate ceiling medallion to complete the look. I spray painted it pink to match the furniture and it is just perfect!

Excellent Product for price

I originally ordered a pre-painted medallion only to realize that the coloring in the pictures are usually way off compared to what you receive. I had to return it. I looked online to find a video to learn how to do the painting myself to get an antique oiled bronze effect. It was much much easier to accomplish than I expected. Going with the primed medallion and painting it yourself is definitely the way to go. Just go online and quickly see how easy.
