Holes Did Not Line Up

Order two HON 1870 bookcases for our church. One did not align properly at the top. Had to re-drill the top holes to make it fit.

Good Value for Price - But Back Looks a Bit Tacky

The good: Harvest color is nice, not too dark or too light. Shelves are sturdy. the 72.5" height with 6 shelves was a nice find. Most with 6 shelves are 84", much taller than I wanted.

Quality low

This product is easy to put together but the quality is not good! Easily breaks down as I put nails & screws in.

Attractive and Sturdy

Very pleased with this purchase. I like the adjustable shelves. The piece has a nice, warm stain and has the potential to hold up for years. I recommend Hon products in general.

nice looking sturdy shelves. Assembly was simple once I threw the accompanying directions away and figured out how the cam bolt and cam connector were intended to go together.

This bookcase is exactly what I expected. It matches really well with one I a bought several years ago. It was easily put together by my son. For safety in the presence of children, he also attached it to the wall with a bracket. I'm loving my new bookcase.

Economical Bookcase

I needed a number of bookcases to store my wife's paperback book collection (25,000 - yes thousands - books), so I bought 10 of these. One was broken when I finally unbaxed it, but I was shot of shelves so I used the shelves and cut up the unbroken side for more shelves. I use 8 shelves per bookcase so I get 10 horizontal shelves counting the bottom and top. I double stack the books and get approximately 100 per shelf. I already had 14 similar book cases that I'd bought over the years. Now I need a few more, so I'm writing this review on how the bookcases I already have have fared.

Very nice shelf unit but some problems..

I am in the process of refurbishing my library and office. I really liked the look of the HON mahogany shelves and liked that the same style came in many different sizes so that all of my shelves would match, regardless of size. I wanted higher quality than the cheap, budget shelves I already had. This project is still ongoing and requires $3500+ in shelf units to complete.

nice but heavy

After looking at several bookshelfs in this catalog, I decided on this bookshelf.

We liked the bookcase-it was a good fit. But when it was delivered-the box was torn open and there were no directions on how to put it together. Luckily I looked on line and found some help-but the man that put it together had a hard time with it.
