Sturdy bookshelf I was looking for but not good directions and some holes were not prefilled that I ended up ruining a few of the shelves and chipping off some of the wood. Hopefully the next one I put together will have the holes drilled.

This bookcase is sold through Sams by a company in California called Concepts in Wood. I genuinely like this bookcase. It is very heavy and substantial. Very nice for the price. Concepts in Wood, on the other hand, should be dropped by Sam's Club. My bookcase was damaged in shipping. Not the whole thing, just one of the largest pieces. To be clear, this damage is not the fault of Concepts in Wood, but it is ultimately their responsibility to make sure the customer is happy. I had hoped I could just contact Concepts in Wood and they would send me a replacement piece.

Oak finished bookcase

I was plesantely surprised how well finished the bookcase is. The backing is a made out of thick plywood. The build in tilt allows heavy load of books.

Great oak bookcase! Very sturdy, nicely made, have had for a couple years and it holds up well. Holds lots of books for the kids! Easy to put together.

Not worth the money

Bought this for office area. It is a heavy piece but the wood is so dinged and scratched up and the large piece even had a bow in the wood. Not worth the money and once you get it hauling it back to the store to return won't be a option. So I am stuck with a new piece that looks like I have had it for years and abused the heck out of it. Disappointed in my purchase!

Save your money!

Bought this a week ago and I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase this piece! Wood is heavy I will give them that but the quality is horrible! Wood is scratched up, chipped and curved. Already put together and way too hard to return so I will live with it but I wouldn't want anyone else to purchase it. Super disappointed!

poorly made

I’m hoping I will be happy with this once it is build. I am not your typical weekend warrior. I have assembled 100’s of these types of fixtures in my previous life. Everything was going fine until one of the pre-drilled shelves was drilled wrong. I have a choice, make it work or call the manufacturer and have another shelf sent. No one answers the phone. I was able to leave message but no one has returned the call. Currently the assembly project is at a stand still and I have a mess in the middle of the room.

Missing parts, dinged up, nice

Hoping I'll be able to get this resolved. Received today. A shelf is dinged up pretty well, missing a piece to put it together, and it doesn't align leaving a gap between side and top. If I could upload photos I would.

Cheap all around

Understanding this is a fairly cheap bookcase, I didn't expect the quality to be THIS bad. The trim down the center was glued on and held by four brad nails that look like they never penetrated the center support wood. It broke off during shipping (box came somewhat beat up). The back panel is flimsy as cardboard and held together by pieces of tape plus screws around outside edge. It was also damaged on arrival, but not significantly. After putting it together, my hands were dirty from the stain rubbing off. Two of the screws they supplied snapped. There were no pilot holes in areas where it would make sense. Don't know if the quality of this is standard for Concepts in Wood products, but I wont risk buying another piece from them. Overstock's return policy is such I would have to pay to ship it back (not liking the quality of a product is not a valid reason for them, which fine, but means I won't order from overstock again). I was hesitant to buy online and should not have. At least if I went to a box store I would have been able to get an idea of the quality and brought it back if it turned out as bad as this. Essentially it works as a shelf, so I'll probably use it in the basement/garage to hold paint cans or something. Waste of money. Order# 370148889.
