Picture of Large Rug is misleading

Overall we are satisfied with the rug (Safavieh Lyndhurst Kerman 10 X 14 (ft) Sage/Ivory). The smaller rugs we got (3x5 and 2x14) are accurately shown in the picture. The larger rugs are not. The manufacturer apparently took the small rug design and "stretched " it out, so that all the intricate designs are now separated by large areas of green empty space. The pictures do not show that. Disappointed when we saw it. We are already considering replacing our 10 x 14 rug, but we cannot trust this manufacturer enough to consider buying another of their larger rugs. To summarize, very happy with the small rugs, less so with the big rugs.

The rug is very nice except it came with a "green tape" tag over a section about 5" long that had very loose threads. As it was too much to return, I turned the rug so the unthreaded section was not seen. I think Bed and Bath should let customers know if there could be a defect. I paid full price for a defected rug.

We purchased several of these rugs. The largest one being 9x12, which came folded up instead of on a roll. It doesn’t appear to be the best plan. The rugs have been down for a couple of months now, and there are still creases, in an area that gets walked on many times a day. We even tried steam heat. About 4 years ago, we purchased these exact rugs, but in red, and they all came on rolls, including the 9x12. There were no problems. Why would you ever ship a large rug folded, and not on a roll? We change our rugs every few years, but I don’t want to go through this again.

This is a great price for a nice oriental style rug, very convenient to purchase from overstock as the photos and description almost always match the actual product. And it seems like overstock quality is on the upper end compared to a lot of outlet sites, really disappointed with my purchases here and this is another item that will be at my house for a long time. Thank you overstock

Horrible Stench

I have several Safavieh rugs. They have all been good. This rug looks good, it smells horrible, it has been in the garage for several weeks and it still smells. It is too cumbersome to return. This is the first purchase from Overstock that has been unusable. I am disappointed.

A pleased customer

My runners arrived perfectly. They were wrapped well and unwrapped ok. They are beautiful and fit in 2 hallways the way I imagined they would. An excellent buy. The 2 customer service people I talked with were a delight. So nice and patient, very kind and extremely pleasant. Both a big help. I will order again from Overstock. A happy customer with beautiful runners for my home.

Rolled So Poorly It May Be Unusable

This rug was poorly rolled for shipment so it arrived and is so scrunched across the entire width, we have serious doubts that twelve boxes will ever press it properly into place without serious damage to the pile. This was SUPPOSED to be a dining room rug. With furniture arriving in two weeks, I wonder if we will get a replacement? So disappointing. We've bought other rugs successfully from Overstock. This was more like minus one star. Very upsetting.

Gorgeous Well-Made Area Rug!

This 8' x 8' square area rug exceeded my expectations in beauty and quality for the great price I got it at here on Overstock during the big rug sale extravaganza, YAY! It is plush and super soft to the touch with a well-finished edge all the way around the 4 sides. The gold, black and red colors are rich and spectacular and they really pop sitting on top of my oak flooring! I am so pleased with the entire area rug in all aspects, quality, deep rich colors, size and detailing. Happily, it came rolled up (NOT FOLDED as some mention) very nicely covered in very heavy, thick plastic with "bonnets" or "booties" on each end under the plastic just in case the plastic would tear during shipping, the edges of the rug were still very well protected, a wonderful touch indicating a high-end maker (Safavieh) that cares about their product and how it arrives at its destination after leaving their warehouse, thank you! It was easy to roll out on my deck to lay in the sun and allow it to off gas (which was extremely minimal anyway, another pleasant surprise), rolled it back up, brought it in and rolled it out under the dining room table, it immediately laid flat and looked like it has been here in my home for a long time. I just couldn't be any more well pleased with the whole experience from start to finish! Not to mention how quickly it arrived, I think it was about 4 days from ordering to arriving!

Overall I'm happy with this rug, which looks just as expected from the pictures. It is 118.25" square, rather than a full 120" (measurements being slightly off from the listed dimensions is pretty much an industry norm, but if you need the exact measurements, there you go). I received it at the early end of the promised timeframe. I expect it will make a nice addition to my bedroom. I have not yet actually put it into my bedroom for two reasons: it arrived very wrinkled, and it STINKS. . . The wrinkles are due to the fact that the rug was folded in half, which I can't really blame them for. Ten feet is a very big rug to transport. It was folded in half and then rolled, which resulted in a pretty strong crease in the middle. It is still in the process of relaxing, four days after delivery. Since I will be putting my bed on top of it, I want it to be pretty flat before I place it so I don't end up with wrinkles that are between legs of the bed and therefore never really relax because it's pinned to the floor. But with heavy things placed in strategic locations on the rug where I've laid it out, it is almost flat now. . . The offgassing is very strong with this rug. I have a poor sense of smell and am not normally bothered by "new" smells (if I even notice them). This rug, however, has a pretty overpowering odor to it. I've been able to open it up and air it out in an empty room, which I'm very grateful I have the space for, because I don't think I could have slept in the same room with this rug the way it smelled when it first arrived. (And I really did not want to subject my small dog, whose sensitive sniffer is a mere 7" off the floor, to walking around on it.) Vacuuming it has helped, and positioning a fan in the window so it pushes air out of the room also seems to help. (Blowing the air across the surface of the rug towards the open window was less successful.) I've now sprinkled it with baking soda and will vacuum it up after a day or two, at which point I expect the smell will be undetectable to me. My husband has a better sense of smell than I do, and he agrees it is almost gone now, after about four days. . . In the long term I think I will be very happy with this rug. If you are able to deal with the initial smell, I think you will be too.

I purchased 8 carpets from your company. All of them are actually very nice. My issue is that I have had a few over a week on the floor being walked on and we are still tripping over them. The wrapping was perfect on them, so rolling them the opposite way would solve this issue. Roll them with the carpet out and the backing in and they would lay much flatter on the floor. keeping us from tripping over them every time we pass. I have tried putting things on the edges but even this has not worked...I am sure in time they will be ok but until then I hope to not break my leg on them, or crack my head open hitting the floor, commode or dresser. The company should contact me, I want to know that they have read this review. Until then I will do my best to not get hurt and hopefully any guest do not trip over my rugs for the Christmas season. They would be 5 stars, if not for this issue.

Beautiful Rug...looks very rich!

Needed a rug for our Masters Bathroom and didn't want a wool rug and anything too thick. This rug looks fabulous as one enters the bathroom. It pulls the cherry cabinets, tiles and wall color together. It looks rich even though it is not wool. The colors are bright as photo'd...the red is not a cherry red but more of a bright burgundy that would match any cherry stained furniture or cabinets. This rug looks more expensive than what I paid for it. I purchased a similar rug from the same manufacturer for my breakfast room...it is soo easy to maintain and clean! Yes, we do have a dog. It wears very well. Very happy...Thank you Overstock...Love the rug!

Couldn't be happier with the rug

This rug is an 8 ft square. The actual size is 95" square verse 96" square but the size is perfect for my space under the dining room table. I have no complaints. The colors in this rug are beautiful, black, beige, tan, burgundy with a touch of gray and green. The rug is much more rich and impressive in person. I looked at tons of rugs and this rug is the prettiest one I found. The price was great and dealing with overstock.com is a pleasure. I had ordered a 7ft square rug in the same pattern but was too small to fit under my table and chairs. I returned the 7ft square rug via the return instructions on overstock.com and received my refund within a couple of days of them confirming the return was received. I am VERY HAPPY with my choices, in addition to the 8' square rug, I ordered both the Safavieh Lyndhurst Collection Black/ Ivory Runner (2'3 x 6') and Safavieh Lyndhurst Collection Black/ Ivory Runner (2'3 x 8') runners that complements our home very nicely. I will be a customer of overstock.com for now on.
