Fake looking marble, disappointing quality
The marble base was extremely faux looking. The lamp had a strong, off-gassing odor. Overall, disappointed in the look and quality (although I'm not sure how much more I could expect for the inexpensive price - wishful thinking).

Regrettable
A regrettable purchase. I was too easily influenced by an influencer! My husband mockingly calls this the "bowling ball lamp" and while it is IRL exactly as pictured - it's MUCH more bowling ball and less marble base in appearance.

I'm not sure what the other reviewer is talking about, because I bought this lamp in August 2019 and it has a foot on/off switch on the cord about 3 feet away from the base. It does not have the on/off switch near the bulb. Maybe s/he got a weird one? I'm pretty happy with mine.

I bought this lamp based on the description for the lamp having a "on/off foot switch" which it Does Not. You turn the light on/off with a turn switch by the bulb. You get what you pay for so that being said the lamp looks nice from far away but up close the there is uneven tone to the gold color. So if your looking for a foot switch lamp look elsewhere.
Adds so much
This lamp adds design and style with such subtly. It really changed my living room with its unusual, yet chic, design element at the base. It's extremely elegant and modern. I love it.
