Affordable but Quality

We have owned these bookshelves for 10 years. We were a military family that moved often and the bookshelves are still in great condition! The "salt oak" color has changed over 10 years (slightly darker) but that is only an issue if you are trying to match furniture from 10 years ago. The backing is more of a panel than an actual piece of wood. You could leave it off to see through, if you'd like. Assembly is labeled well and takes about 30 minutes. Moderately easy to assemble. I highly recommend the Sauder brand of furniture!

Beautiful design

Beautiful piece of furniture with a lot of storage space. The only thing I dislike is how flimsy it is.

Beautiful design minus one flaw

These are great bookshelves if you only need one here and there. They are NOT however capable of being nestled together to give a cohesive shelving unit on a wall w/ the flared edges.

I was looking for a bookcase to match my desk that I purchased a couple years ago and ran across this trendy piece. The delivery was on time it took about an hour to assemble with no scratches and no missing parts. I am so glad I purchased.

This is a good quality product

I am always dubious of flat packed products but I have to say the quality of this bookcase is great! Assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow and each part had a solid feel to it. Once assembled the bookcase looks great and feels strong and solid.

Stable and good looking

The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I put this together by myself and it wasn't bad. It looks very well and the pieces are well made.

I have one already and I needed another so I put them end to end on a wall. They look like custom furniture!!!

Missing Parts

Directions are confusing, and it takes at least 2 hours to assemble. Kit came with a missing piece (N) and instead came with two M3 pieces. Annoying. Not worth tearing apart to send back

Perfect for my space !

I needed a tall, narrow bookcase for master bedroom, many books . This bookcase is perfect . Solid and sturdy . I love that each shelf has a little "ledge", so I can prop photos in front of books . I do wish there had been a darker wood option .

Beautiful addition to my office

I wanted to display some of my books and collectibles more prominently in my office and did some online shopping. Nothing fit the bill until I started searching on the Kohl's website and discovered this beautiful shelving unit from Sauder (with whom we have had very positive purchasing experiences from in the past). It is very attractive and the color is versatile enough to complement different decors. It is very sturdy and well constructed. The assembly instructions were good, however we had to hire someone to put it together for us. It took quite a bit of time for them to accomplish that task, but I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I thought the price was very reasonable for such a nice looking piece of furniture. The only thing that would have enhanced the purchase would be an option for glass fronts for each shelf (similar to a traditional barrister/lawyer style bookcase). That would reduce the need for frequent dusting. But I am still very pleased with this purchase!

Very Nice!

I like this book case, to hold periodicals and CD's. The instruction book is full-size and valuable. They also have a phone QR for how-to. It took me 4.5 hours to assemble, and I'm mechanically inclined. The only error was attaching the back panel, I should have followed instructions as described. The product is weighty, and the package is compact.

A few flaws, but overall very decent

Only a couple of the cams broke. Having extras would have solved it no problem. One of the card holders had a defect. Otherwise quite solid

As beautiful in Person!

I read numerous comments that said this was difficult to put together, but I couldn't disagree more. Everything fit beautifully, parts were correct and went together as directed. Instructions were mostly visual.

There were some minor imperfections, but overall pretty decent
