Great price on a sturdy chair!

Great and sturdy chairs! They do have a slight cut out on the seat which makes them more comfortable to sit in for a long period of time. Easy to put together and great for the price!

Solid, Sturdy Chairs!

The chairs were well packaged and arrived without a scratch. They were very easy to assemble until I got to attaching the seat. There are no pre-drilled holes or even marks in the bottom of the seat to indicate what would be "centered." At that point I had to enlist my husband to actually drill the holes while I held the seat centered and in-place. When complete the chairs are solid, sturdy, and bright white.... exactly what I was looking for!

Great chairs that blend in nicely with a very old table that has been used in my family for at least 60 years. It took me a long time to put them together! I did them myself so it is possible. Just be prepared to spend some time. Once I figured out the first one the process went smoothly.

They were a little heavier than I expected but that is not really a bad thing. I decided that what I really needed is full padded chairs so I did return thesr. Overall, if you need a wooden chair I would not hesitate to purchase this chair.

The hardware supplied (nuts,bolts,washers,etc.) was conveniently packaged all together for easy assembly. The chair components were perfectly aligned and labeled. The quality of the wood is outstanding! Very pleased with the finished product: these sturdy and beautiful chairs are on par with furniture showroom chairs costing much more!

I first went to another business that has this "Cafe" dining chair assembled. It was very comfortable and appeared well made. I later found that Home Depot sells this same chair (comes 2 chairs to a box) at a much better price. I ordered 10 chairs. So far, I have only opened the 5 boxes and all of the parts are there. I have yet to set up how I am going to assemble, stain, and polyurethane them in my garage. I just know they will look great when I finish with them. Home Depot promptly notified me when they were delivered to the store.

A sturdy, comfortable and stylish chair

I bought this chair to use with the brown International Concepts Writing Desk and it matches perfectly. It looks good and is quite comfortable.

I am very impressed with these chairs! They were very easy to assemble once I got over the fact that some of the stretcher ends looked crooked. When you get the pieces all in the right places they go together very smoothly. All the bolts lined up and threaded nicely. A quality chair with a nice finish that's also very sturdy and comfortable.

We bought these for our basement eating area quite a few years ago before we had kids. We now have two very busy kids and the basement is their play area. These have held up so well. Very easy to assemble. Comfortable chairs. There is a small gap between the seat and the skirt, but it is not noticeable. We painted the chairs and we advise purchasers to fine sand them first. They look great and we’re ordering more.

My Mom bought us the Crate & Barrel Avalon extension dining table in black as a housewarming gift. Being on the frugal side, I did not feel particularly inclined to buy chairs from them, as they are very expensive. If we'd purchased the C&B chair style that most closely resembles the Copper Grove Quince Black Schoolhouse Chairs, I would have received just ONE chair for the same price as the FOUR I purchased here from Overstock! These charming schoolhouse chairs are straightforward to assemble if you take your time and identify your parts before you begin. Once you've assembled the first chair, things go much more quickly. Be sure to assemble the chairs on carpet or a blanket to avoid scratching the chairs (or your floor) during assembly. Be sure (as always with any RTA furniture) to leave things a little loose at first, and only tighten everything once all the pieces are in place. Pro TIp: While it's still loose, have someone sit in the chair (before you tighten), in order to avoid crooked assembly that will result in chair wobbles! Once assembled, these are solid, sturdy, attractive chairs with classic but simple lines. These chairs will complement a broad spectrum of furniture styles. We find them surprisingly comfortable to sit in for an unpadded chair, but one can always purchase cushions for a softer sitting experience. As for the black finish, it will show dust more easily (as black always does), but they're easy enough to dust off, and the finish has proven durable. No scratches to date despite our three cats jumping on and playing amongst them! In all, this was a fantastic purchase at a terrific price. We expect to enjoy these chairs for many years! If you are hesitant about buying furniture from Overstock, I can assure you that they have (and have always had) excellent customer service. I should know - I've been a customer since 2002!

LOVE these chairs! Just what we wanted and so beautiful and sturdy! 5 Stars for sure! Not too difficult to put together but very well made and heavy. The extra crossbars underneath provide better support for the chair and add to the quality and appearance. The finish is great and easy to clean up with a damp cloth.

Nice chairs

We like the chairs. The assembly was relatively painless. Nice looking and comfortable for sitting. We had a kitchen table made last year and were unsure what kind of chairs we wanted... have been looking for about a year. These work. Update 7/1/2018 - we ordered another set... they work well with our table and are very easy to assemble... very well made.

Solid, durable, practical chairs

My wife and I decided to try these chairs at our dining room table after hyperactive shifting around by our kids had shaken apart our previous set a dining room chairs. They have stood the test of time. Many years later, they are still going strong. If you want solidly built chairs, these will fill the bill.

Great, Sturdy Chairs

I ordered a set of six of these about 9 years ago. They hold up so well and blend nicely with my dining room chairs for larger family events that I ordered two more to have as spares. I had looked at the "schoolhouse chair" on another retail site, and they look nearly identical but are less than half the price,. I love the classic, timeless design of these chairs. They look great with my maple table as a nice contrast.
