The grid keeps my sink in great shape. It the silverware and knifes from scratching the stainless steel. It's important to measure your sink from the bottom of the basin. The to top of the basin may be wider than the base.

It's just very annoying that the little "bumpers" (two per side) are probably too thin so they bend too easily and come off all the time.
