Purr-fect
Sorry about the review title. I couldn’t resist.
My dachshund loves his little strolls.
Looks great, but not easy to use
It is VERY difficult to collapse down and open up. The mat that sits in the bottom of the riding compartment is very stiff and does not fold in half, which keeps the stroller from folding flat. The fabric rips easily when scraped on something (like the side of a wall). Also, the snap closures on the front don’t latch well. Overall it’s ok, but I really wanted something more substantial.
Love Love Petgear Strollers and CHEWY
This is my third pet gear stroller and I’m fixing to buy a fourth. They last many years, I just purchased the green one a few months ago unfortunately, my male passed away. My heart breaks every time I push my body female in it as I remember them both loving it so much. So when I can sell the green one, I’ll be purchasing it in pink.
Obsessed
My older cat is very active and loves going outside. As another way to ensure he gets some fresh air, I bought him this stroller. My more timid and shy cat loves it too! And they can both fit in the stroller together. It was pretty easy to assemble and has all the functionality of a normal stroller. I am really pleased with this purchase! And I like the clasp in the front to close it versus a zip. Makes it super easy to put them in and close the top quickly so they can't hop out.
Nice Little Stroller!
Replaced an aging stroller with this one because it is smaller to fit in the boot of a MINI Cooper, doesn't use zippers for the enclosure and is just the right size. The assembly is fairly simple, however, the instructions are a bit confusing. Just take your time when assembling and you will be OK. Appears to be made well, like the color options. Pet Gear customer service is excellent if you have an issue.
Leo loves his cat buggy
Leo was an indoor/outdoor/farm cat before we adopted him from a no kill shelter less than a year ago. He came home with fleas (and was severely allergic) and turns out he had several health issues (stomatitis, kidney disease, heart disease) and finally lung cancer. We wanted to make his last days as fun for him as possible and decided to get him a cat buggy. He loves it! The sidewalks are bumpy in our neighborhood so its great that the buggy has shocks. He likes to sit up in the buggy and look around most of the ride. We put in a fabric wee wee pad as extra cushioning and in case he has a mishap but so far he hasn’t peed in the buggy. Only wish we had thought of getting him a cat buggy sooner.
great dog stroller
I have an older standard dachund who loves to walk but due to age and short legs, can't walk longer than about 15 min and at a slower pace than me. This stroller has solved our problems. She walks at his pace for the first 15 min. then in the stroller he goes. Then I can walk at a much faster pace and as long as I want. He loves being in his stroller and watching all the things around him. I am sure he is now sporting a big smile when we take our morning walks! He knows when we turn the corner to our home he will let me know that he wants out to finish our journey. I am pleased with the durability and ease of the stroller and it the canopy over his head if it rains. I think its a good idea to measure your dog to make sure the stroller's bed will be the right size for your dog's body. I am glad I did since my dog's torso was longer than I first thought, went up a size and he fits perfectly in his stroller.
Great stroller for my 15 pound dog
I got this stroller for my dog because he gets tired pretty quickly when we walk on hot days. So if I want to take him out with me to pick up lunch in the neighborhood he can make it there but he won’t be able to make it back because he gets tired in the heat. So I just put him in the stroller on the way back. Also it is nice to have the stroller to put him in when I take him into a store because people don’t seem to care as much when the dog is in a stroller. (And no I never take him out when the ground is too hot for his paws)
Feels like Good Quality
Set up was pretty easy, didn’t really need to use instructions. I let the stroller sit out so the cats could get familiar with it. I have taken them around the neighborhood a few times now. Two of them one small (7 lbs) and one large (12 lbs) fit in the stroller comfortably. I like being able to see through the top and check on them. One of the brakes appears not to work but the other does and exchanging sounds like a big pain. I wish there was one more leash on the inside for a second pet. They don’t love the walls yet but I also feel like they aren’t terrified of them either. Both of them have been sleeping in it when it’s in the house. It is pretty hard to put them in the stroller without the other one jumping out. So I am very glad it uses a latch and not a zipper. The shocks make for a smoother ride. It is easy to steer and maneuver. Overall glad I got this because I’ve always wanted to take my cats on walks.
Good stroller
I got the stroller a little over two years ago. It works fabulous. The color has faded since I use it for literally every day use it has taken a beating. There's been some reps in the fabric that I've had to fix it folds flat which is nice it's very light weight if your dog is small if your dog is 20 pounds it might be a little tight. I recently purchased a $300 jogging stroller from a different company for sand and works absolutely fabulous. It's very heavy but this is a decent stroller, but if you use it every day, it will take a beating. I also added some extra storage from the baby section works great for shopping and small things not so much jogging or lots of outdoor things.
Great Stroller
My cat loves going out in this stroller! It's easy to maneuver. The canopy is easy to fold down and latch to keep your pet safely inside; there is also a place to attach a leash. The stroller has lots of mesh windows to let in air and allow for a nearly 360-degree view. On the top of the canopy is a mesh window, so you can keep an eye on your pet (my cat just sits or reclines calmly). You can buy a pillow to fit inside the stroller, but I found that a bed pillow fits just right. The stroller has a roomy basket underneath and a (alas, too) shallow cupholder between the handlebars. The stroller is easy to fold and to re-open. The brakes, which are operated by foot, are easy to engage and unlock. I chose this stroller for two reasons: Firstly, it can hold up to 35 lbs of pet, as opposed to 22-25 lbs for other strollers. Someday, I might want to put two cats in it, and two could easily come close to or exceed 22 lbs. Secondly, the canopy has a latch, not a zipper. My cat has long hair, so I feared some of her hair might get caught as I worked a zipper. This stroller has worked out very well for my cat and for me. I enjoy taking her out in it almost as much as she enjoys the ride.
Brought our dog's vitality back
We have a 19 lb senior terrier mix who was stuck at home not going on walks for a few weeks due to a foot injury. She was getting depressed. Despite my embarrassment at the idea of being a dog stroller owner, I love this ridiculous dog and so I wanted to get an affordable stroller to be able to get her out into the world more. This one is perfect and definitely made her happier and helped her heal faster. It's a great value, it rolls well, it's easy to push, it has nice features for the human like cup holders and a storage basket, and the sun shade is easy to operate. The location of the mesh windows is also great for our dog because she can still see out if she lies down. I wish the handle was slightly longer/taller because I do sometimes end up kicking the stroller with my feet when I'm walking fast, but this is manageable.
Worth every cent, and more
I purchased this stroller about 4 years ago for my dog who was growing lame with a degenerative spine illness. The stroller enabled him to live and enjoy the outdoors with me for about 2 years longer than he might have. We would go on long walks (I'd let him out to pee/poop) but he stood ready to be let back on board again. We'd tour the neighborhood and investigate lots of smells. At a "higher" level than his little legs would go, he would be prime for lots of pets from neighbors. He LOVED this stroller. (And I loved that it had cup holders so I could take my coffee to the park!) It was easy to maintain, held up to lots of use, and was easily folded up to put in the car for travel. It was certainly worth the money I spent. My dog died and I got another dog (a year later) and the new one is VERY shy and scared of people (and dogs). So I use the stroller (lid closed) when I go into very populated areas or have to stop and talk with folks. She feels safe and secure in the stroller, and I can feel secure knowing that I won't encounter any "dog drama" on our walks. I'm so glad that the stroller has done "double duty" for both of my dogs. I actually bought another stroller (same one) as a "loaner" to neighbors in my community who need assistance with older, shyer, or post-surgical dogs (or cats). I'm the Chair of our neighborhood "Dog Interest Group" (DIG) and we have about 50 dogs in the group, so we have lots of use for the stroller. Our lending program started out with the stroller, and we have grown to offer many other durable products, so I want to thank Chewy for offering durable, sensible, helpful things to our four-legged family members.
Great pet stroller for cats!
I researched several pet strollers before deciding to purchase this one. I have 5 indoor cats who love outside, and I enjoy walking for exercise, so a sturdy pet stroller is a good alternative for us. This one holds pets up to 35 pounds. My guys are from 7 - 20 pounds, so the smaller ones can ride in pairs or alone, and the big one fits comfortably by himself. The wheels on this stroller are designed and made very well. I live in a neighborhood that has no sidewalks, so good wheels were a factor in my purchase. It steers and rolls smoothly and quietly. The steel clip that fastens the hood to keep it closed is strong and there's no way cats can stick paws or noses between the upper and lower frames and get out. All of my cats seemed to really enjoy the elevated vantage point and looking through the mesh sides and front of the stroller. The handle height is perfect for me, I'm 5' tall. Might be a little low for taller people unless they have long arms. The wheels were easy to put on, the front wheels snap onto the leg frame easily, and the rear wheels are already on an axle, just snap that into place also. The cup holder is removable, holds 2 cups. I want to use the stroller to enhance my walking workouts, so I can put my small handweights into the bottom carrier. The stroller does fold down, but not completely flat. The price is very reasonable for this well-made pet stroller.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
Soooo glad I bought this well-thought out, well-designed stroller! I did a lot of review reading on pet strollers all over the internet. The common complaints were either the pet (cats in my case) could open the zipper (I have one that can do just that faster than a Houdini)/claw out the mesh to escape the stroller or the entire stroller was junk and would fall apart. Not the case with this one.
Quality product
We own a more expensive version of this stroller with inflatable wheels. Unfortunately the wheels are of such a size that it is incredibly hard to reinflate the tired. The other more expensive version also may be slightly larger. When we came to Florida for the 3 month stay, we didn't want to take up valuable space in our vehicle with the stroller, so we ordered this version which was delivered to our daughter's house. The quality is exactly the same as our other stoller, but the wheel are hard plastic. It took us a minute or two (really more like 20) to fibure out the back wheel situation, but once the wheels were on, we took it for a spin. The features on this stroller are pretty similar to a child's stroller. There is a tray where we can place a coffee or a soda. There is a netting underneath the stroller for jackets, hats, purchases made along the way. There is a fold down hood that completely enclosed the riding compartment. The hood has see-through netting in the front so our dog can still see out. It also has the same netting in a small area on the top so the dog can see its owner pushing the stroller. The stroller comes with a clip attached to a tether to clip to the dog's harness so there there is no inadverent leap to the ground. The wheels move easily--the front wheels rotating smoothly. The fabric material is heavy-duty. And on top of it all, it folds up for transportation or storage. Can you tell I love this product? Our Pom is an old guy now who has some health issues but he still wants to be with us all the time. This stroller lets him be part of the action anytime we leave the house.
