"Empire Of the Sun" is a masterpiece. There was no cgi.

"Empire" is a stunning film. Steven Spielberg was the perfect director, and Christian Bale couldn't have had a better debut. Disc Two contained a documentary about the making of the film, and it's amazing to see all the work performed by a massive crew. It's a pity that more viewers have no idea what all that goes into pre-production, production, and post-production. I'm glad that I purchased "Empire."

Greatest movie!

Hands down one of the greatest movies of all time. Pleased with DVD quality and condition was exactly as described. If youve never seen it Id highly recommend it. Good age group for this movie is 14-100. Not a movie for smal children due to the more mature nature.

Great movie, bad disk

I bought this movie as a gift for my husband and when we sat to watch it the disk kept skipping through the middle of the movie and would freeze. Eventually it would start back up again but always at the ending. The disk didn’t seem to be scratched or damage so not sure what happened there. Great movie just couldn’t watch much of it/most of it.

The characters in this WWII film are very engaging. You will not loose focus while viewing the movie. Intense at times. Young Christian Bale is perfect in his role. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

A look at W.W. II China

I love this Steven Spielberg directed movie. The script and the acting makes this a must-see movie. However, I did have some problems in that the dvd kept stopping (getting stuck about 5 times). I would have to stop play and forward to the part I was up to and it would play until it happened again. All in all, I got to see the entire movie with my wife and we both enjoyed it very much.

Incredible Movie...Steven Spielberg is a Master of movies...Christian Bale shows incredible talent at this young age. The movie should be considered a Classic...Exciting and Entertaining, can't say there was a moment of boredom...Unlike other WWII movies -- showing the horror of war from the eyes of young boy held captive by the Japanese for several years....Can't believe I waited so long to add this to my collection!
