Pocket door latch

Ordered antique brass, polished was sent. Product appeared to have been packaged wrong. Good quality and fit but sloped edges on handle edge are difficult to grasp for open and close.

Not such a good lock

Latch doesn't work well. Very little space for latch to catch onto the strike plate. I had to swap them all for another model. Knob is also hard to turn.

Purchased 5 years ago and bought again for another house

Love the product I have used them in 2 houses.Solid build. Could have better insulations. Comes with two different sizes screws for different widths in same box.

Privacy pull installation

This is a good quality lock and was installed in under an hour. I wish the thumb turn was shaped differently to allow easier locking. It is hard to grip with fingers compared to the existing lock it replaced.

missing part - strike plate

My order was missing the strike plate. I have called and emailed. Please mail me another order or mail me the strike plate that is supposed to be in the box.

nice lock but could be more secure

nice lock. The only thing is that it exposes the screws to the outside which can be removed to dismantle. Apparently there are several models and one has no screw head but there was a discrepancy in model numbers.

Bad design for such a beautiful lock

I Bought this Emtek lock through the company that built my handmade pocket door. The door manufacturer routed the door specifically for this so I had a professional take care of that. I would not recommend routing your door if you have never done this before for this particular style of lock.

Pocket door pulls

There is not enough depth for a finger to open and close the door. Really disappointing because love the finish and the function. Bought additional finger hold handles also by emtek

Better than most on the market

We found most pocket door pulls were thin, cheaply made, had difficult to handle privacy locks and had poor recess for gripping. This one is the best we could find and we are happy with it. The privacy lock is workable and we are no longer worried that someone will lcok themselves in the bathroom and not be able to escape. Its not perfect and we hope Emtek and other manufacturers will pay more attention to the ease of handling.

This is a nicely made pocket door handle but I agree with some of the other reviews on finger grip area. It's not very deep but the main problem is that it's very smooth so you don't get a good grip to slide the door closed.

I bought this for a black pocket door. I was nervous because this was literally the only antique brass pocket door lock that I could find. But it totally worked out! I'm super happy with it!

This product is nicely made and the oil rubbed bronze finished is high quality. My only concern is that I wish the side pull area were larger because it can be hard to grip.

I just did a review on this purchase and then read a number of the negative reviews. It appears the dissatisfied parties did not take enough care to install the pull correctly, or align it correctly prior to installation. The handle on mine swings out nicely, the lock arm is adequately long to engage the striker slot, and the lock itself works perfectly. I checked it all often during the installation process.

did not meet my expectations

I found it difficult to use. I bought three of them. The door that is used the most is for powder room door. Two people closed the door and used the lock and then couldn't get it to unlock. It took a lot of jiggling etc. to finally get the lock to release. It may be an installation issue. Not sure. Still working on solving the issue.

Looks nice

Extremely hard to open and close because of the rounded edges. Got locked in the bathroom. When I closed the door it locked itself. Could not unlock from the inside. Good thing my husband was home. He needed a screwdriver to open it.

Design flaw

I ordered this part for a new bathroom pocket door that is part of a remodeling in our home. My contractor cut the door to fit this lock and then discovered that the design does not allow enough length for the hook to catch the plate. In other words, it doesn't work. We have returned the part (postage at our expense) and are waiting for the company to resend another lock. I would be happy to rewrite this rating if they correct the product.

Solid Pocket Door Hardware

We looked and looked for a privacy pocket door lock and pull that was both solid and attractive. The Emtek pocket door lock was the perfect fit. It is solid construction and a little bigger than the traditional 'stamped' locks found at the big box stores. The small amount of added cost is worth it, definitely!!

Fourth time's the charm

After receiving the 4th unit, and piecing together parts from the former three, I now have a lock set that works. The first unit did not have the correct custom key and when installed, the inside thumb lock would lock the door but bound up and would not unlock the door. The second had a custom key but it was not properly cut so it would not work, and the mechanism also locked the door from the inside but would not unlock it. The third unit had a properly keyed lock cylinder, but still would not unlock from the inside. The fourth unit had a wrong cylinder, my door is 1 3/4 and the fourth lock was for a 1 3/8 thick door, but good news, the door could be unlocked from the inside and so I kept the 3rd lock cylinder and returned the rest. By the way, the 4th unit cylinder was not only for the thinner door, but it was keyed wrong. I spend 4 times the purchase price for my carpenter to install and reinstall the unit 4 times.

Good Lock, Good Look

This lock is one of very few available on the market that provides security for an interior pocket or sliding door. The lock is made with parts that are hefty enough to stand up to the demand of regular use. The sliding door track that supports the door is an important component to provide ease of use with this lockset. This lock was specified at two interior location of a project that my company is currently working on. The lockset satisfied the requirements that he designer and owner were hoping for in areas where a traditional swing door was not practical.
