Cannot return to a store.

Despite the officedepot.com website claiming that any online purchase can be returned to the store, I just found out that it is not 100% accurate. I tried to return this chair to a store and was refused. I learned that this items was from a third party vendor and officemax.com return policy does not apply. Unfortunately, I also did not know the chair was from "a third party vendor". If I had known, I would not have purchased it!

A few months after I bought it, it sank to the floor as if I had pulled the lever to do so when I hadn't.

Very happy with this purchase.

4 years later-- still life changing

I started suffering from back pain in high school, and sitting at a desk for long periods of time was excruciating. I tried out chairs everywhere I went, but couldn't find one that wasn't immediately uncomfortable or had the warning signs of being painful over time. That changed when I tried out this chair in a Staples. It was immediately comfortable, and dramatically decreased the back pain I suffered from sitting for long periods of time. I was able to work functionally for the first time. This chair has been with me through the pain of scoliosis as well as recovering from spinal surgery, and I would recommend it to absolutely anyone-- back pain or no back pain.

Lasted less than a month. The right arm broke (will not adjust up or down) and the seat height sinks from highest to lowest position over the course of an hour. Frankly, this thing is junk.

Excellent chair, well constructed.

Solid, well built, all the pieces were present when I opened the box. Comfortable seat, the backrest is in the perfect position to relax back into it. The stitching appears to be tight. The padding is firm, but thick. I had to look up a video to be sure I was putting it together correctly, the instructions weren't totally clear about how the center post connected to the seat of the chair. Turns out, the seat of the chair just sits on the center post. After confirming that I was doing it right, I had the chair built in less than 20 minutes. I'm very pleased with the product, and it arrived nearly a week ahead of schedule.

so far so good....except this is my second chair ordered from home depot in the last two years. the last one broke after the warranty would have been up by two months. The new chair (this one) said it had a warranty for 5 years, but the chair just arrived and there is no paper about said warranty and home depot has removed the chair from it's listings saying the item is no longer available so I'll have no proof.... now I am considering returning the chair just in case or keeping it with the potential to fight a battle if the chair fails before hand.

Easy set up & comfortable

This was shipped quickly, came in perfect condition and was easy to set up. Its a comfortable chair and I like the metal base.

Great Chair

I finally decided that I deserved a decent, comfortable, sturdy desk chair since I work often from home and had been sitting on a wooden chair that would hurt my hips and knees. I did some research, and this chair without arms seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. It was easy to put together...be patient with the wheels on the base. They don't need to be forced, just aligned properly and with a little pressure (I'm a 60 year old woman) they went in great. The only assembly problem I had was figuring out exactly where to put the top/back into the seat/base, so looking at the assembled picture helped me figure it out. I was making it more complicated! The finish of the seat is nice, the size is right and I feel confident in it lasting quite a while. It is just a good looking chair!

wheels need to be improved . . . do not roll well on wood floor . . . not as comfortable as i hoped

Big Deal on a Big Chair

The big & tall chair represents the very best value for a high quality office chair. I have been "through" 3 other chairs in as many years and was fed up with an industry that caters to average sized people with below average standards. This chair is roomy in the seat, comfortable , and the back is supportive . It is well made, with attention to detail. Most of all, and this is hard to describe, but it feels solid. Solid, but very comfortable. I am more than satisfied, and so are my 6 feet 4 inch frame and over 300 lbs. of coddled humanity.

Recommended but with reservations ...

This isn't a bad chair but it has some adjustability problems. While it seems to be cushioned adequately and the seat is wide enough for a large person, there's no adjustment to bring the top of the back (i.e. the headrest) forward, so there's no support for my back and I'm leaning way too far backward, even with a pillow in the middle of my back -- and with the pillow, my head and neck aren't supported by the headrest. In addition, there's no way to adjust the front of the seat upward any further, so it feels as if I'm slipping forward off the front of the chair. Maybe this will change as I sit in it more and it conforms to my shape -- but right now, it's just not comfortable.

Time will tell

Seems like a solid chair but does sit a little firm. Very easy to assemble but one caster would not snap into the base and they are replacing that. The test will be how does it hold up over time.

Lives up to the Greek god's name

Durable, sturdy, and sharp looking, the Hercules chair gets the job done. We ordered the 2 chairs for our big guys in the office 2 months ago. They both love it!

Just received this chair and got it put together and I must say that it is definitely what I was looking for! I have put together cheaper task chairs that I would have to replace about every year and the comparison between this chair and the others is like the difference between night and day. The construction of this chair is heavy duty and the padding is perfect for me. I have plenty of seat space and not feeling cramped while sitting in it and while leaning back my head hits just right on the upper portion of the seat back to rest my head. All adjustments work fine and no noise while rotating in the chair. Was very simple to assemble(about 15 minutes)and had no missing parts!

I ordered the fabric version. It arrived in 6 days. It was very easy to assemble and is a very sturdy chair. Everything is impressive except the padding on the seat. I thought that a BIG and tall chair would have more padding where the seat meats the seat. I weigh 267 lbs. and I bottomed out. I like Flash Furniture, in general, but the next time, I will pay more attention to the thickness of the seat cushion. I purchased an" as seen on TV" cushion to compensate.
