I cannot express how disappointed I am in this island! I do not recommend purchasing this for several reasons. Like others said, this island is super difficult to put together. It took me a very long 7 hours in all, with some occasional help. The written instructions totally lack detailed information and are full of inconsistencies - especially in how it refers to the parts/hardware (most of which are not even labelled). The video is also unhelpful. The video does many steps out of order and skips or skims over parts which caused a lot of problems when the paper instructions got confusing. I wasted a lot of time trying to make sense of the instructions/video and sorting out which parts were being used in each step. There is also no list of additional tools you’ll need to build the island. I ended up needing 3 different screw drivers, a Phillips head, a drill, and a hammer. It’s a good thing I happened to have all of this handy or I would have needed to go out and purchase them, because there were pre-drilled holes that weren’t drilled all the way through and three different screw sizes. The hardware is also poor quality. The screws have to be retightened constantly and some screws are so tiny that I worry they won’t last long or hold very much.

It is a very good product for 7 years. Happy buyer~~~

Everything went together fairly quickly, I would definitely recommend you read all instructions and have someone help with holding pieces as you assemble product. The kitchen island is truly beautiful addition to any kitchen. Top is oiled from factory, so do keep this in mind, we oiled ours with mineral oil each day for 5 days then used a butcher block oil/wax to help seal so we can safely prep foods on surfaces. Very pleased and highly recommend this item.

Great quality overall. The bottom board and shelf could be better quality but it may be fine. Glides for butcher block slides are extremely stiff and hard to slide even though ample WD-40 was applied. The drawer glides inout perfectly. Underside of top has a 3 in burned knot that is also ⅜ inch deep. As this is on the underside, I’m hoping this is never an issue. It is not visible after assembly.

Exactly what we wanted. Sturdy, good construction and looked very nice. Just be warned - is requires 100% assembly. Not so much a complaint as letting people know that it’s a big job.

Beautiful and well made. Didn’t have any hardware at first but it came. The box was pretty beat up but thankful it wasn’t damaged. I love it !! Shoulda had one years ago

Kitchen Island Trolley

The trolley is well made, well designed and solid (though the thin plywood side panels should be equally solid IMHO, and seem a little out of place). All in all, just what we needed and worth the wait. Easy to assemble, looks great.

My son put this beautiful cart together in just 2-3 hours. Of course, he’s amazing! The cart itself is gorgeous, and fits perfectly into my kitchen. I’m looking forward to rolling pie crusts out on its generous butcher board surface, and serving family dinners from same. A kitchen cart that has gotten a lot of complements.

Very Functional

I absolutely love this! If you need a very functional island this is it!! It's worth the money for sure.

I needed an island with a butcher block top to make cookies, cakes and bread. We have downsized and our new home has a new, but very small kitchen. I keep all my baking supplies in this large island and just roll it from the dining room into the kitchen when I'm ready to bake. We are extremely happy with this butcher block cart. It has increased our kitchen counter work space and storage. The natural wood is beautiful. It took my son and I approx 5 hours to put it together. 1 hour was taking parts out of boxes and making sure everything was there. Instructions are clear. I highly recommend this product.

Beautiful, real wood kitchen island

The Catskill Craftsmen Empire Island Kitchen Cart far exceeded my expectations on quality. It is real wood not the cheap mdf stuff. The dimensions were spot on, so it fits perfectly where I planned to put it. It is beautiful. On a side note, it was missing two parts. I contacted the company (their info was on the included care brochure), and they are sending the pieces to me.

Just what I was looking for and is working out great. Took awhile to assemble but went together per instructions. You have to season the top but that was easy. Would recommend.
