Purchased to use for shoe storage in foyer. I labeled some decorative baskets, placed them on the shelves and now the shoe clutter is gone! The shelf was very easy to assemble and seems very sturdy, albeit, not actually placing heavy items on it. I like the slight sheen on the color and the design matched perfectly with a hooked bench also purchased on Overstock. I would recommend this shelf as it has many uses in bathroom or office or anywhere storage is needed.

very nice book shelf. great price, you will love

This I bought for my basement game room, to place board games on it. It is a very sturdy construction. It looks very nice as if it cost a lot more than it did. It was easy to put together. It even had extra parts in a bag in case you needed. it. This is a great piece at a great price. You will be happy with this purchase.

The book shelf is absolutely beautiful! It looks like a very expensive piece of furniture. There is a strong lacquer scent when first put together, but it does fade with time. Very happy with the item!!! Great price, too!

the description of the product was right on. I put it together by myself. Very sturdy bookshelf. very nice addition to my workstation. would recommend this product. It's very nice piece and at a good price.

Good Little Bookshelf.

I received the item when expected. It was well packed. Assembly was easy especially if you’re familiar with online furniture purchases as I am. I’m 74 and completed it in less than hour by myself. The reason for the 3 stars is the damage in several places on the edge of the front of the top as shown in the pictures. I will keep it as I really need the storage now but will request a replacement piece from the manufacturer. It’s a good piece for the price if there was no damage.

Smells like teen spirit

This smaller shelf replaced a much larger unit. Downsized electronics fit well.The unit hides a TV stand quite well. I bought the unit for size, appearance, color, and price. Good marks there. Unfortunately, the unit smells bad. There is a solvent smell. It is slowly fading, but it is still unpleasant six days after unboxing. I am patient; I will give it another week or two.

Terrace Storage Shelf 3-Tier 37" wide in Espresso

I absoluty love my Terrace Storage Shelf 3--Tier in Espresso Finish bookshelf. It's very rich looking in color and its of good quality. It compliments my spare room very well as a place for my favorite books. Its easy assembly and of arrived quickly. I also bought another one from the same company but it was taller. I would highly recommend this for purchase. I'm going to buy another one for my grandson so he can display his favorite lego builds on them in his room. Easy assembly and the wait on delivery is quite fast.

A "stinking" experience with a bookcase

There was an extremely unpleasant, sickening "fish-like" odor possibly from a chemical solvent of some kind, after opening the box and that continued to permeate the entire house even after assembled. My family members and a neighbor agreed. The odor made it impossible to keep the item indoors any longer after only 2 days and was removed to the patio for now. The container for the unit was trashed so I have no way to return it and after calling in to your customer service I was told I had to return it anyway. This was the first bad experience with Overstock.com after many years of doing business so I want to be fair. However, I am suspending any further business and cancelling any pending purchases for the foreseeable future for anything involving imported furniture items.

Excellent for the Price

Looks great. Finish is very good. Pretty solid for the price. Assembly was not too bad. Only problem was that one of the pre-installed sleeves for the cam fittings was missing. Result is that one corner of middle shelf is not secure.

Fairly nice, just not built for a lifetime

Looks nice from a distance, but end result does not feel particularly solid or lasting. Don’t love the shelves, edges are rough and easily chipped. The top arch is also roughly cut. The sides are nice and solid, but roughly stained. Assembly is OK, pre-drilled holes and cam-locks fit fine, but actual screws don’t really hold well (they rarely do in particle). Makes me wish for a simpler, solid wood bookshelf.

Looks like picture

It looks perfect. Easy to assemble. Directions were pictures only so if your a visual learner you’re good. Box arrived in good condition. Items in box were properly secured with styrofoam with each pieces separated.

Nice size bookshelf but kind of poor quality.

It will do for the price. Size is great but finish is kind of poor. Not even and edges were scuffed. Had assembled for 5 days now and put my cookbooks on the shelves and they have started to sag. Would be ok for lightweight stuff.

Decent, Not Great

These are decent book cases. They go together easily, are relatively solid and I received them even earlier than originally promised. They are a bit uneven in terms of finish quality. Two of the three are just fine, one has odd imperfections, like large particle dust, along the top and front of one side. They compare to something you'd buy at a Home Depot or Wal Mart. The finish is also EXTREMELY pungent. The entire house smells of cloves. It's not entirely unpleasant but it is still strong a week after assembly.

Do not buy!!! Terrible odor!!!

Terrace Storage Shelf

I absolutely love these Terrace Storage Shelves. I had originally purchased the smaller version, which I use as storage in my office, and the larger ones are perfect in my living room. Extremely good quality and very easy to assemble. Great buy!

Really pretty but the color isn’t as pictured or described. It’s not espresso, it’s much more mahogany and the purple/red tones really come out which is disappointing because I bought it to match my espresso brown TV stand. Keeping it because it’s a hassle to return but I’m not terribly satisfied.

Rich Color

I like the espresso color; it perfectly matches the desk in my home office. It was easily assembled by my husband and quickly filled by me so we ordered a second bookcase. It’s not the sturdiest bookcase I’ve seen but it serves our purposes. I recommend it.

Good Deal

This is a great unit for the price. Easy to assemble. It does have an odor the first couple of days from the varnish, but goes away. Gave it 4 stars because the front piece is not as “polished” as the other parts. But again, great for the price.

Paint chips off too easily

Nice enough looking piece but paint chips easily. Top shelf edges rough and just know it will chip if dust rag catches edge. Not stable, still rocks even though tightened properly. Drilled holes for screws are not centred properly ....shelves not sitting exactly properly.

This is a small shelf unit that is functional and sturdy after proper assembly. Assembly is not difficult but is time consuming. The finish, particularly on the most visible arched piece on the top front, is rough. Appears to have been painted without any sanding. With proper finish I would have given four stars. For the price this shelf is OK.
