One of the battery inserts is to small for heavy duty battery, it does take a regular battery. This is located on the time side.
It looks like an expensive antique clock, but it was priced to where I could afford the look, but not the price.
Wish it was a little bigger
I really like this clock, except the chime is so loud. I don't see a volume control so I folded a paper towel and put it over the speaker but it didn't help at all. Would appreciate if anyone has any idea how to make this not so loud.
Great Clock
The clock keeps time very well! The chimes work throughout the day %26 evening (but remain silent from 10:00 PM %26 start again at 6:00 AM).
The clock works great. Unfortunately, I was expecting wood and it's plastic. Looks OK, but somewhat cheap looking.

clock keeps good time and looks fine the problem is you can't set the chimes to correspond with the hour. It will chime on the hour but not the correct hour. When you put the batteries in for the chimes it's supposed to chime six times and you set it from there the problem is it doesn't chime at all when batteries are installed so you can't set the chimes.

This clock besides chiming on the hour it also makes a sound like the grandfather clock every hour
