Comfort and Cost

I went in looking for a new air mattress. Instead, I left with this cot. I used it when camping, it was just as comfortable in the test as it was when I tested it in the store. It is nice to not have to figure out how to support myself from getting up off a low mattress with my sore knees. The cot is comfortable with just my sleeping bag on top of it. Some people prefer to put a thin air mattress on top of it, but I haven't found that necessary. It's a great price compared to the other cots available was well.

Easy to setup, very easy to fold up alone

It is easy to setup and very easy to fold up. To setup, if alone using a chair at one end, setting up the other end first, then it is very easy to setup. To setup with two people, very easy to do. I use seat cushions firm from three seated sofa plus sheets, very comfortable to sleep on this cot with that. The cot is a bit heavy to carry folded. Easy to place this cot in and remove from carry bag.

Easy cot- the name says it all.

When searching for an appropriate camping cot, several factors came into play. First, I needed one that was wider than the standard 26 inches. This particular one at 30 inches wide proved to be a good choice. Second, there are no end braces which make makes the cot much more comfortable. Third, the set up is insanely easy. There’s nothing to insert, nothing to stretch and it opens and closes with one easy move. What’s not to like? It’s heavy and not cheap. But, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. In this case, it’s worth it.

A good, serviceable cot for a good sleep.

Cots of this type are often poorly constructed and seldom comfortable. This model is far better than others I’ve tried. It is substantial, well-designed, and while not in the class of an innerspring mattress, can give a sleeper a good night’s rest. For best results I suggest adding a full-length inflatable or a thin mattress pad. Read set-up and take down instructions. I’ve had 2 of these.

Worst sleep I’ve ever had.

This has got to be the worst thing I’ve ever shot on. After 9 camping trips I’ve had enough. I thought there may be a break in period so we put up with it. But no! These cots are every bit as hard today as the day we bought them.

COTta get one!

Purchased for my husband to use on his annual camping trip with the kids. He has a bad back and has been using air mattresses for years, but it's hard for him to get up/down from it as he gets older. This cot is great. Super easy to set-up and comfortable enough. We purchased a foam mattress topper for added cushion, which did the trick. As some reviews noted, it's not lightweight. But it's not ridiculously heavy, either. Not for carting from place to place all day long--but quite reasonable to pull out of the car, set-up in the tent, and have as a sturdy, stable bed until it's time to pack-up and head home. Very happy with this purchase.

It's easy!

True to its name, this cot is so easy to set up and take down. It is also solid, sturdy, and roomy for this 5'4" 130 lb figure. I did put down foam floor padding under the feet to protect the tent floor just in case but I like that I can store items under the cot with ease. It is too hard for me to sleep on it comfortably as is but I bought a foam and air combo sleeping pad online and now it rivals my bed at home. Would be perfect if the price included some sort of padding or sleep pad.

Love my cot

I have had an Easy Cot for 8 years. Love it! I use a 1” camp pad on top and sleep perfectly without morning stiffness. It fits nicely along one side of my tent, and there is enough room below to fit laundry baskets with clothes & other camping items, so the tent isn’t messy. I’ve had campers in the past with beds, and I really like the Easy Cot, because I get a good night sleep in a tent, and THAT gives me the freedom to explore more places driving a fuel efficient car instead of needing a bigger vehicle to pull a camper, and having to store a camper!

Simple, Easy set-up, comfortable

Recently ordered but received with a tear in the fabric due to a missing protective part; hence 4 out of 5 starts. Called the Byer and they were super quick in responding and providing a replacement cover - pretty impressed by that.

Best Cot Ever!!!

Some have remarked that the cot is on the heavy side but that is because it is very sturdy, solid, and engineered to open and close easily. I was incredulous! I have never seen another cot as well made as this one! Someone really thought about what people like and don’t like about cots when they made this one. No one wants one that is a pain to set up, or that is flimsy, wobbly. The ‘EASY COT” (well named!) is a breeze to put up and take down. It has its own canvas carrying case, and I kept the cardboard sleeve inside the case because it makes it easier to store. What a wonderful cot! PS if you use it with the extra large Camp Futon cot pad, you have a sleep system that may be better than the bed you currently sleep on. Yes, it’s THAT good!

Nicest cot we own

This is our 3rd brand of cot we've purchased. And, by far, it's the nicest. It's not the lightest, it weights exactly 21 lbs. However, it is compact when folded up and in its carry bag. It opens and closes very easy. It's very wide and it's very comfortable and very sturdy. It's made of steel with a canvas bed area. I'll buy another since my wife likes it too and has claimed this one. I'm very impressed with it.

Just as "Easy" as Advertised

We plan to use our two Easy Cots for tent camping. Cots are heavy, but just as easy to set up and take down as advertised. To make the cots even more comfortable we also purchased self inflating mattresses. I have not been able to try the combination camping, but have used them in our living room while watching TV. I promptly fell asleep and slept as well as I do in our bed.

Surprised!

I had been looking for a cot for a while and was very pleased to find this one at our local LL Bean store. The box had previously been opened, but I was reassured about that and told how easy the cot is to set up. Just what I needed. However, the cot could not be set up. There were no instructions in or on the box, but the strategy was obvious. On inspection, the pin that holds the center strut was broken in half; found the parts it in the bottom of the box. Hard to imagine that the store was reselling merchandise already returned, that, or it had been a floor sample. On inspection, this cot clearly would have difficulty holding the weight of an adult. You sit on the side exactly where it was / is vulnerable to breaking. There were no problem returning the cots (I had purchased 2). I would have expected the manager to own up to this probably having been a floor model or previously sold, but there didn't seem to be any interest in having sold me an obviously previously used, and broken, item.

As "advertised" ... Just what I wanted

Just as good as everyone says. Easy to unfold and set up; easy to fold up and put back into the nifty canvas storage bag. It is really just what I wanted for grabbing and setting up in front of the fireplace for a quick nap. Quality construction; will last for many naps. Also very suitable when the grandkids visit. Very stable once everything is unfolded and in place. Just what I wanted.

Comfortable and stable!

Purchased this as I needed a cot for a long primitive camping and fly fishing trip coming up in a few weeks. Like any crazy I person, I had to set it up and sleep on it just to see how it was in the comfort of my own home. Had no issues sleeping (note that I did add the Camp Futon as a cushion) and actually prefer this set up any day to lying on an air mattress when I camp. it is very comfortable. Absolutely would recommend this to anyone looking for an easy cot. It is light, it takes less than 3 minutes to open (and close...) and stores perfectly in the provided bag. I am 6'2" and 265lbs and this had no issues with my weight on it.

Great value, easy to set up

This is a very good value for the price, and it is easy to set up and take down. After searching on line I could not find one that had the high ratings that this cot had. I found that the extra large fitted twin sheets fit it very well. My grandson really liked it and gave it a thumbs up.

MUCH better than an air mattress

My husband and I tent camp quite a bit in the summer. As a slightly older couple the air mattress just wasn't cutting it--deflating enough to be miserable in the morning with aches and pains. These cots are super easy to set up, very stable and super comfortable with the LLBean Ultraplush futon. They are heavy, but definitely worth a good night sleep! We took one cot and futon to our camp for our visiting daughter's bed. She said that she was very comfortable. FYI, my husband is 6ft3in and the cot fit him just fine. Highly recommend!

like it says...It's EASY!

my son is in cub scouts and we go camping several times a year with the pack. generally it has been an uncomfortable experience for me so I decided this time I wanted to try cots and sleeping mats.
