All filters not created equal

Bought a new home. Builder had a basic filter in the first month. Replaced with this and can already tell a difference in dust build up and odor. Really wanted something that could filter a little better and so far seems to be doing the trick.

Works well

So far it’s works very well. We have a dog and a lot of foot traffic going through our home = a lot of dust and airborne particles. It’s been a month and so far I haven’t sneezed, like I do when the filters need to be changed. I’m happy.

CFM Rating @ what FPM ??? / Causes drainage issues

How in the world are we supposed to work out the engineering on these with the CFM calculation posted? Filter has a range for Water Column and CFM but does not say at what FPM. Feels like that and MERV rating in general are obscured on purpose. Too much resistance for residential system, causing negative pressure to be satisfied in part by condensate line exit, causing water to be sucked back into unit and splatter everywhere but drain line.

Fantastic filters, read desc for full info

For those who buy this and don't seem to understand how restrictive these filters can get (higher number=less airflow), here's what you need to know. For furnaces that are 20+ years old, only use UPTO a Merv 8 or MPR 1000 filter, that way the old (or new) blower motor won't be under too much strain and cause issues. If you're furnace is between 10-20 years old, these newer furnaces have much stronger motors and you can safely use UPTO a Merv 12 or MPR 1900 filter without them being too restrictive. Finally, just about anything made in the last 10 years should have no problem running UPTO a Merv 14 or MPR 2800 filter.

Good product

I need 20” x 28” filters. So, I buy 20x30 and cut 2” off of the filter. Due to an injury to my thumb I am having trouble with the scissors I use. Any suggestions, or can I special order 20x28 from 3M? The filters I use are the 2200 and they are great.

[Rewarded Review]

I am unable to give an accurate rating on these items because I did not receive them. The air filter and the protein shakes were listed as in stock on the Walmart app and the Walmart website. When I was notified the order was ready I was informed the air filter and caramel protein shake was not available. My overall satisfaction of the vanilla protein shakes and the Gillette razors was excellent.

MERV 13 not good for all furnaces

With the second of these filters I used, I began having trouble with my furnace. Turns out that even though it wasn't time to change the filter, it was reducing the airflow so much that furnace wouldn't cycle correctly; it kept going into lockout mode. So this cost me a HVAC service call only to find out that MERV 13 is not good for my furnace. The service tech recommended MERV 8 which I cannot find, so I guess I'll try MERV 11 and if I notice weird noises and behavior of my furnace, I'll change my filter sooner than 3 months.

Great filter, bit pricey, worth it for clean air.

I really like these filters, I never could find the two sizes I need for my HVAC unit in the store at the same time. So I chose to order them off the internet. At first I was a little leary of spending so much money for one filter, cause it seemed like a lot of a filter that has to be thrown away in 3 months.

Best on the market for dust allergies

These are the most efficient filters I have ever used. With dust allergies, they certainly are wonderful. They are so good, in fact, that you will have to change them more often than the cheap ones. They trap so much more that they get dirty quicker. But that is a plus, not a minus. I am completely spoiled by these filters, and will never buy anything else if I have any choice.

The Real Deal!

At first I thought that this filter was way too expensive. Then I noticed less dust collecting on everything when it came time for dusting. I suffer from bad allergies. Shortly after installing this filter. I noticed that my allergies weren't nowhere near as bad. The air feels more fresh and clean compared to before. Rest assured that you are getting what you pay for and some with this filter. Peace of mind and a healthy home!

Damaged Filter DUE TO Packing

Filtrete 2200 is a great air filter. The 2200 is very effective in removing small dust particles, and great help for people with allergies. Because the filter was bent in three places, I gave a one start rating.

[Rewarded Review] Customer for life!

I have been using these Healthy Living 2200 filtration level filters for a long time. I have 2 cats and wanted to deal with their dander and shedding. I must admit that from time to time I wondered if they were really worth the price, as they aren’t cheap. I now have an answer to that wonder. I had a kitchen fire recently that resulted in a lot of damage to the kitchen, and smoke damage to the whole house. Once things calmed down, I thought about my air conditioning unit. I thought of all of that smoke being sucked into the unit and was petrified to check the air conditioning returns. When I opened the first cover my heart sank when I saw the filter, as it confirmed the serious nature of the damage. It was totally black with clumps of debris all over it. When I pulled the filter out and flipped it over, I was totally shocked at how well the filter worked! There was very little black residue to be seen!! I became a believer in that moment. I will never question the value of this filter again and I am a customer for life!

[Rewarded Review] Great for family with allergies!

Two months ago I “splurged” and bought this filter. My family seemed to be in a non-stop battle with viral cold and allergy symptoms. We live in a very old house and I figured it was worth a try to see if this filter made any difference in our home. In just two days I could feel a difference in our air quality. The air seemed crisp and fresh. I also noticed by the end of the month that my family seemed to be having significantly less allergy related symptoms. Naturally I assumed it a coincidence that they were better and we happened to upgrade our air filter so this past month I replaced with a cheap $2 filter. It has been three weeks and we are all sneezing, coughing and having terrible allergy symptoms. I am going to purchase another one of these tomorrow!!!

[Rewarded Review] Excellent filters!

I have been using Filtrete air filters for my AC for many, years. I have a forced hot water heating system (doesn’t allow filters) so my AC is separate and is located in the attic. My return/vent intake is located in the main hallway where the filter is installed. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a smoker. These filters are the best and worth every penny. I putchase a double pack so I always have one available. You would not believe the dust and gross particles these filters catch. I can’t get over this stuff is in the air we breathe. I am planning to try the charcoal filters I just saw on filtrete’s site. I will never use any other brand of filters but these. AC units are expensive so why not use the best to protect not only your investment but your air quality.

[Rewarded Review] know about Filtrete before going to the grave

I am 68 yrs. old. I moved into my first apartment at the tender age of 26yrs.. old. My uncle Jake who always used the best for his tavern always used Filtrete filters for his furnace.. Even thou the apartment manager used some cheap flimsy filters, I didn't want to bring a women to a dusty apartment. I also didn't want to breath in bacteria, pollen, or any hazardous molds.. Pittsburgh with some big mills still working and all of that mill ( who knows ) stuff coming out of the smoke stacks. Whenever the manager changed the filters he was shocked, he removed a filter that was in one piece, covered in dust, and an apartment that seemed much cleaner than the others. He asked what my secret was, I said just that's not what you put in. To this day ,he went to his grave not looking to see what brand of filter I was using

[Rewarded Review] Collects the black "stuff" floating around

I live in wonderful, but older apartments. Management always changes the filters, but I wanted a better one. I read about Filtrere and bought one about 2 years ago. I have purchased them ever since. I use the little sticker and mark the date it needs to be changed. When I remove it from the system I can see what it has filtered. The filter is literally black. I am very pleased and am willing to pay more for a good quality filter. I wish I would have taken a photo of it before I discarded it, but I will next time.

[Rewarded Review] Filtrete makes the BEST sizes of Air Filters!

After my new top-of-the-line furnace stopped working last month, my furnace repairman explained that my furnace air filter was blocking too much of the air flow. So I went to my local hardware store and bought several new Filtrete Healthy Living Air Filters. My furnace requires a size 25" X 25" X 1" air filter, which is difficult to find in the local stores. I replace the air filter every 90 days. My furnace has run faithfully with my new Filtrete Air Filter. No more worries in this freezing cold winter weather that my furnace will stop functioning! Thanks, Filtrete, for making the large size air filter that I need, and for giving me peace of mind!
