Not happy with product. The food gets stuck, even though I put oil. Would like to return item to the better.

Best Cast Iron Skillet

This skillet will be in our family for many years in the future. The overall performance is amazing. The handle is unique in that it reduces the amount of heat. This makes the use of the skillet much easier as you can manouver the skillet without gloves. There are many cast iron skillets you can but at a cheaper price but you get so much omore quality with the finex.

The best piece of cookware I’ve ever owned

This product has sent me on the cast iron path for good. After using and seasoning, the surface has become more slick than previous non stick pans. Only with this pan there is no poison being added to your food. Metal utensils are not a problem, and the pan only gets better with age. This will be come a family heirloom if well kept. Simply the best.

Quality Cast Iron!

This is definitely not a cheap cast iron, but that's not why you buy something like this. A well maintained cast iron will last a lifetime, and that guided my purchasing decision. I looked at several pieces of cast iron, and choose this one because a few key factors. The polished bottom is a nice touch, and means I wouldn't have to deal with the rough surfaces on newer Lodge pans (Finex is manufactured by Lodge). This really made the break in easy. The handle on this pan also helps the cast iron feel more manageable in the hand. It is much bigger that Lodge, or the Smithey that my friend owns, and my girlfriend said it made it easier for her to pick it up. Big win for me as we both split the cooking duties. Lastly was a lid. Most cast irons just don't come with one, and I was more than happy to pay a little extra to have one. It really opens up the possibilities and versatility of the pan as a whole.

A great, high quality cast iron skillet. We are still getting used to cooking on cast iron and there is definitely a learning curve for cooking and cleaning cast iron. But from the start this pan impresses. There are some good online videos on proper care. Due to the thickness of the iron the skillet distributes the heat evenly and stays hot for some time after being removed from the heat. This is much heavier than other cast iron skillets we considered and the finish is nicer. The handle is not only attractive but it stays cool on the stove top when in use. For pouring you'll need two hands and a hot pad to handle the lift tab across from the handle. You should also plan to purchase special scrappers for cleaning though these are not expensive. Overall, our initial impression is that we will have this skillet for many years.

This is a fantastic heavy duty cast iron skillet! It reminds me of the one my grandmother used to use, but it's actually better. The handle is wrapped with a heat resistant stainless steel wire which makes it cool faster and is easier to lift/touch. The skillet is polished and 'seasoned' so it is ready to use immediately. It can go straight from stovetop to oven, perfect for cooking steaks, corn breads, anything you can think of.

I got tired of non-stick pans just not lasting, so I thought I would try something else. This pan is solid cast iron. As such, it has some special requirements to avoid rust, which can be summed up as 'keep away from water'. If you do clean it with water, dry it off good. Unlike non-stick, steel wool is perfectly ok on this pan.

I've always wanted a good, high end, cast iron skillet to cook with and now I finally do. This thing has some serious heft to it and is a solid piece of iron. I was a bit concerned I wouldn't like the handle design but now seeing it in person, I think it looks great. Cooking with it has been a treat, it takes longer to heat up than I am used to but once it gets going it heats very evenly across the whole bottom. Also haven't had any issues with food sticking to the bottom. I like that it is a small company as well which has an amazing guarantee behind their products.

20 plus meals later.

I have delayed my review of this product until it has been put through the paces of multiple types of use. I have baked biscuits with it. Cooked all kinds of meats and stew with it. Put it over a camp fire to make what ya got stew and have even had it fall off the back of a tail gate. The finish of the cooking surface is smooth as glass and after only wiping it down to season it further. I can cook eggs and the octagon shape surprisingly allows ease of flipping with very little butter involved. Bottom line, even though it is a non traditional design it is functional and is heirloom quality for sure.

A heavy, well-constructed, very attractive skillet

This pan holds its seasoning very well, better than my 12" Lodge skillet. The cooking surface is highly polished, with no open pores evident. These qualities are obtained from the custom formula used in the cast iron the skillet is made from. It worked as well as a non-stick from the first use, as opposed to the Lodge which required several thin layers of seasoning to get the desired non-stick characteristics. Keep in mind that the Lodge came fully-seasoned and blackened, yet still required more work and still has the cobblestone-rough surface.

My absolute favourite pan, and I have sooooo many

I've had the finex skillet for about a year. I use it all the time. eggs/bacon, best char on steaks, fast on salmon, cornbread and pizza, grill veggies, nothing sticks. I keep trying to justify buying a grill pan when I already have an ok one. I find it very easy to clean: wait until it cools down, then in the sink and blast with hot water, use a spatula to ease off any burnt on bits. Dry completely with paper towels. Rub gently a little olive oil on cook surface with a clean dry paper towel and then just take that paper towel and no more oil and swipe over rest of pan. its not suppose to be sparkling "clean". If you need a bit more scouring, add some salt crystals, hot water, scrub gently with a paper towel. It is heavy but that's what I wanted in cast iron.

Heavy, high maintenance pan

I got this pan a few years ago and don't use it much anymore. Something about the finish on the cooking surface makes it not hold a seasoning very well. It works very well immediately after a seasoning and that's about it. I must say when it's freshly seasoned it cooks better than any pan I own, nice and evenly.
