Had to Returned

We are big fans of Le Creuset products so we were surprised when we received these and they felt like cheap plastic. They aren’t actually made from plastic, but it may as well be because it feels the same in your hands. We ended up returning them because it did not have the durable feel that we’ve come to love from all our other kitchen products from them.

Buy something better for less.

Pepper and salt mills bought to replace a much loved set that had begun to wear after almost 40 years. These from Le Creuset are very disappointing and not worth the price tag.

I should have read the product description more; despite being Le Creuset, only the grinder is made of ceramic.

Pepper doesn’t mill (salt is perfect)

Unfortunately, the pepper mill doesn’t mill, it doesn’t seem to grind at all. Salt is perfect, however. Review is for average of both products. Can I exchange pepper mill? Please reach out by email if possible.

Perfection

To be honest, this is the third set I've purchased this year. I keep using them as gifts for people that are hard to buy for. These days you don't want to get somebody junk or somebody a gift card, you want to get them something personal. Everyone that visits our house sees ours, which are the gradient blue, and they freak out. So I've been using these to give to everybody that I possibly can these days. I will continue to do so. They're a great gift. The price is just right for buying somebody something nice but not breaking the bank. Maybe consider that during the holidays. Is truly is a perfect gift! And for what it's worth, we've had ours for a few years now and they're just like the day we got them brand new.

Love them!! We had a

Love them!! We had a pepper mill before (not Le Creuset) and I never used it as the pepper would come out in chunks, which in turn would get stuck in my teeth and I would use my tongue to release them and it would burn. The Le Creuset grinds the pepper fine and it sure enhances the flavours in our meals! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

After using 6 month plus - salt mill clogging, not dispensing pepper properly

Initially purchased for brand, looks and of course function. However, after using for over 6 months, both the salt and pepper mills are clogging and not functioning well. Even after cleaning them both, salt mill has salt clumping at the bottom making it hard to dispense, and the pepper mill drops large amounts of pepper after turning it. Even after making an adjustment it initially dispenses the pepper well, then the last bunch comes out in a big clump. Very disappointed as these mills are not cheap and I would expect more from such a brand who depends on quality and funtionality. I would not recommend these pepper mills. It would be interesting to see how many would change their reviews after using them for a few months to see if they've had similar problems. I wrote a review about this issue a few months ago, but it was never posted. I own many other Le Creuset items (dutch oven, casserole, teapots, etc) and all function well. Guess I will stick to what they are known for...

Updated Review: Had them for 8 months now, not working as well

After using them for 8 months they are not working as well as they did initially. Both salt and pepper mills get clogged easily, and when turning them they release big clumps of pepper and salt, even after adjusting and cleaning them. Disappointed as these mills are not cheap and Le Creuset items are known for their quality and longevity 😔 Guess I will stick to only purchasing their cookware.

The essential addition

These end caps are the essential addition to your basket when purchasing the salt & pepper mills. They fit snugly enough to keep all the 'bits' from the mill inside and not all over your counter top, but when cooking the mill will come off the cap easily (without upsetting the bits onto your counter) when you want to season your food on the stove. They prevent my OCD taking over as I pick tiny bits off my counter every time I walk past!

Poor quality

I bought this Le Creuset salt mill along with the matching pepper mill in 2024. I've been pretty unimpressed at the quality for the price - the salt mill jams very easily, the pepper mill takes a lot of effort to grind a small amount of pepper and they are generally of a cheaper quality than I would expect from the brand. I've just replaced them for a different set only three years later.

Disappointed

These salt and pepper mills look great, but for the price and being that they're a Le Creuset product, I expected much more.

I am a bit of a "mill snob" having owned several salt and pepper mills, most of which either don't work for long or properly and most don't provide the ability to change grind size but these ones do. An added bonus is they look great and feel solid. I have been using the taller Le Creuset pepper mill bought previously for over 2 years and it functions like new.

perfect little accessory

These perform exactly as needed. No more mess on the counter! They are so inconspicuous too, my husband thought the mills were broken as he had no idea i bought caps for the bottom. They match the mill and are super easy to rinse off.

Attractive and compact

I purchased this Le Creuset Gift Set of Salt and Pepper Mills because of their actual size. I have had larger mills but have found that they can tend to fall over and hit the table if knocked. These being smaller don't do that.

Doesn’t stay on

Not sure how these caps got such great reviews. Maybe I got faulty ones. However, these mill caps do not stay on. They are super loose and comes off whenever I pick up my salt or pepper mills, therefore getting it everywhere. The colour also does not match so it looks odd with my Cerise mills. Overall disappointed.

We love the colour and

We love the colour and the design, it adds a pop of colour and so easy to use. I should have gotten the cover because now there's excess salt and pepper on the counter. It's still fairly new but I hope it will have good ware and last decades.

Great product

There's not a whole lot to say or expect from these mills - they work well, they hold a good amount of salt and pepper, it's easy to adjust how finely you want to grind, and it's easy to wash them. A bit on the expensive side but they look great if you already have other Le Creuset products to match them with.

Great product!

The black & white set looks so sharp and grinds perfectly. Very easy to fill and the mechanism to adjust grind works very well. I ordered two sets of the black & white mills along with a set of black caps and a set of white caps; kept a cap of each colour and one set of mills and a friend got the other mills and caps. This is a good way to end up with matching caps for each mill...or mix them for a bit of contrast.

We have these same Salt

We have these same Salt & Pepper Mills and bought these for our daughter as a Christmas gift and she loves them. They are top quality, hold lots so don't need frequent refills and look amazing on your countertop and table. They also coordinate nicely with her other Le Creuset pieces. Such a great gift!
