I’ve owned these plates for

I’ve owned these plates for over 30 and recently had to replace a few. I wouldn’t think of replacing them with anything other than the Country Side line.

French Coutryside Forever!

I have owned a complete set of this pattern for 10 people since it was created in 1980.. We love it because it is a wonderful backdrop for food of any type and color.... and it is as sturdy and versatile as can be. We use it for both everyday and when entertaining. This is the first time in 42 years that we decided to replace any of our dishes, cups, platters, etc. We recently bought five new soup bowls... because my husband scrapes the bottom of some of the bowls much too vigorously, so that he can get every drop of soup or morsel of salad. But, we do not expect to replace any of the other dinnerware pieces. They are all in perfect condition!

French Countryside Rim Soup Bowl

It's lovely, just the right size and color - a very soft, light cream.

Crackling around the sides and rim of bowl

I bought this a few years ago and one of the bowls developed crackling around the sides and rim of the bowl. I typically was the dishes in my dishwasher or by hand and don't place any pieces in the oven or microwave although this style is safe to do so. I'm now in the process of buying a replacement soup bowl as I'm not sure if it's safe to eat off of it with the crackling.

Pretty but chip easily

I've owned this set for a few years now. Pretty pattern, but chips easily. Dishes are heavy, and thick, so they take up a lot of room in cabinet. I truly regret buying these dishes and not spending more and getting the Villeroy and Boch Manior or the similar Lenox pattern instead. I guess you get what you pay for.

The best thanksgiving dishes ever.

We bought our first set of French countrysides 20 years ago. Later we started having Thanksgiving at our house. The dinner plates are perfect: luxuriously heavy, creamy colored, and deep like bowls. The gravy does not run off onto the table. The salad plates are virtually interchangeable with the bowls, so at our house, pie and ice cream can be served to many without spills. We’re not much for salad on that day, anyway. They’re not expensive, so I don’t have to worry about breaking them, and they go with every kind of table linen. I’ve bought 2 more sets over the years. We use them for our everyday dishes too. Don’t waste good, as Jethro Gibbs says. Oh yeah, and they’re still in production, so I don’t have to worry about finding more yet.

Good Set

We were looking for a nice set of dishes that could stand up to daily use. These look to be a sturdy set.

Love this product

I purchased this set last year after checking out numerous other products. I can't say enough wonderful things about the product or Mikasa who stands behind each and every item! If there is any factory defect with an item, Mikasa is a phone call away and will immediately send out a new piece. They always look great and wear well. I would certainly recommend this dinner set and Mikasa!!

4Years and Still Look New

Really like these - bought wife two 45pc sets and they look amazing. I am not sure what metal marks people are talking about - we have never had these - could it be their silverware is not 18/10? Wife kisses me each time we have company saying she loves these and thanks for buying them....

Disappointed

With the Mikasa name, these dishes should be of better quality. They chip easily, they crack, too, but worst of all are the black and gray silverware marks that have made them look old, cheap, and worn.
