Second Mattress Firm Mattress Purchase

Our second Mattress Firm purchase. After first shopping the selection at NFM, we were not pleased with the price point selection. Then, we went to Mattress Firm where we got our last mattress. Greg was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He looked up our previous purchase and showed us its successor. It was out of our price range, and Greg showed us a selection of mattresses with similar characteristics and more price friendly. Greg answered all of our questions about the choices which had a better price point progression than NFM had. We found a mattress that fit our budget and backs, Greg sold us the mattress, and it was delivered fast. We are very pleased with our mattress with better sleep and no back discomfort. Greg is an excellent representative of Mattress Firm, and we were very pleased with his service and professionalism.

Too soft, no support

When I tried the mattress in the store, it was soft but had support. The mattress I received was totally different. There was no support and it felt like I was sinking down to the base. I could even feel the tops of the springs. I woke up after the first night and was in tremendous back pain. It got worse over the next two nights. I was grateful to Tom Saunders for expediting the process to swap out the mattress for the firmer Sealy option. The new mattress is much better and also smells better as the soft mattress had a pungent odor despite airing it out. I wonder if the soft mattress was defective as the mattress in the store was much firmer and that one was broken in.

Enjoying waking up without pain.

I waited a little bit to review. Our old pillowtop plush mattress was only 4 years old and had huge valleys. My husband and I are average sized people and we rotated frequently. So, when we bought this mattress we wanted to make sure that it wouldn't valley over time. We were ensured that it wouldn't, and I read every review on R&F and google about this mattress prior to purchase. So far about 3 weeks in, we love it. It took my body about 2 weeks to adjust but so far, we are really enjoying it. My husband - who btw is never has anything positive to say is very happy with the purchase. With our old mattress, his shoulders and hips were sore almost every morning, and he frequently woke up with headaches from the lack of support. My husband is very happy with this mattress. He felt relieved of pain within a day or 2. I am a belly sleeper and like I said, it took about 2 weeks to get used to it but I'm really happy with what we have and plan on keeping. I'm hoping after the 30 day window we can enjoy the cooling features of the mattress, but with the cover we purchased through R&F and it masks the cooling so far.

Worst mattress in 50 years of marriage!

Bought at Presidents sale- now 6 months. Thinking this would be good for a fireman husband with spine arthritis & my 4 knee replacements. We replaced a 7 yo S& F traditional in great shape. Neither of us can turn around, & getting out is very difficult! Immediately you think,” wow! So cozy! But, you can’t move freely! And it is hot, NOT cool! And, salesman sold a “ Sealy approved cooling mattress” pad. The thing slipped and slid everywhere! Wrinkles are not good on the skin- replaced that!$100 wasted!! This mattress is being replaced after 6 months- going to the guest room, sorry friends! What a waste of a lot of money and comfort! Tired of getting up and sleeping in a chair almost nightly and looking at husband,” how did you sleep”? We are both disappointed we bought this and felt “ conned” into it by the salesman. Had to buy the special pad because it would void the warranty he said. I always had mattress pads and in fact our 7 yo Stearns& Foster looked brand new! This squishy Sealy has caused us BOTH to have back pain, not to mention a waste of money! We stopped at Boscovs to look for a replacement and other salesman wanted us to buy a Tempurpedic and adjustable bed- more than $5000! We are going back to where we bought the S& F, have to wait 2 more weeks for Labor Day sale, as we spent/ wasted so much on this Sealy Albany already! Maybe because I had 4 knee replacements and he has a bad fireman back, this wasn’t a good fit, despite the salesman’s expertise. But if we both have trouble turning and getting out, it must be the squishy mattress. Wish, we could have gotten our money back, but you can’t return a mattress(set) like a shirt that doesn’t fit! This mattress was worse than any used motel mattress from a bad motel! And, would I recommend Boscovs to a friend? Yes, but not for a mattress.
