Sturdy Piece!

this is one heavy piece if you are shipping to your house. It is not a cheap MDF piece of furniture. It weighs a ton but that is a good thing once you get it together.

Poor quality. The drawers have all came apart. They were all carefully assembled. It’s a shame because I bought the whole set and on every piece all the drawers are garbage.

The finish of the wood was exactly what I expected. It's a very nice weathered wood finish. The frame is very solid. I wish the drawer bottoms were made out of thicker material. It is a thin MDF or something similar. If the dresser is sitting on carpet rather than wood, it does wobble a little bit when you open and close the drawers. The top piece of the dresser came a little bit dented but I didn't want to exchange it to avoid the hassle of disassembling and repackaging it. Otherwise, for the cost, I am satisfied.

Not super solid and is a bit wobbly…. UPDATE … it’s actually a complete piece of garbage. It’s falling apart. The drawers don’t stay together. The railings on the drawers don’t work. A complete waste of money.

This feels like a fairly sturdy dresser. It arrived intact with only some minor wearing on the edges. It was packaged pretty well, though! It took me almost 3 hours to put together by myself and was messy (definitely vacuum afterwards!). When built, it is really heavy. If you’re putting it on uncarpeted flooring I’d recommend sticking some felt pads on the bottom before you have it all put together - I didn’t think of this until I had it all built and in place and I regret it.

Lovely chest of drawers

Bought this a month ago and am very happy with it. Easy enough to put together if you follow the instructions carefully. Very sturdy. I ordered the winter oak and it's a beautiful addition to my bedroom. Packed very securely during shipping so there were no damaged pieces. I would have ordered the matching dresser but it wasn't available at the time and ordered another one of the same color.

Not a solid piece. Came damaged. They did send the replacement parts for damaged parts. But it still is not sturdy. It looks great though. Just not the best quality. Took a lot longer to put together than we thought. If it was a little sturdier I would definitely recommend

The dresser looks exactly how I expected it too. I am very pleased with it minus how difficult it was to put together. Took almost 4 hours and was very confusing for me at some points, but once it was done I was very satisfied. I would highly recommend this for a kids room. The drawers themselves are very roomy. I fit all my kids clothes in there and there is still plenty of room.

The drawers came missing pieces and broken for the rest. I assembled the remaining drawers while i wait for replacements and after one hour one drawer collapsed into the other. I weighed what was in the first drawer and it was only 6 lbs, please note that per their instructions it should fit 25 lbs. I through out my solid wood furniture and after building this i feel like i should have kept the solid wood.

I had to deduct two-stars because one of the pieces of the chest of drawers was sent twice in lieu of its mirror image, so we now have a bedroom full of pieces, instead of a chest of drawers. I did contact the company immediately via the South Shore website and South Shore responded within a day. I have yet to hear from the manufacturer, but it is only 3 days later. Assuming they reply and send the missing piece (Piece "L") in a timely manner, I will redo my rating. Otherwise, while there are many pieces to put together, it looks like the finished product will match the picture. It is hard to find this size chest of drawers in a charcoal grey color, which is what we needed in our room. Hopefully, we will be able to finish putting it together soon.

If I could give it zero stars ? I would . It’s horrible idk if I just got a defected one or what but I wouldn’t recommend feel like I wasted my money . It’s wider than the drawers so they never go in right as you pull on one it comes out the track . Very annoying when you read the reviews and you think your getting something great. My daughter tugged on the drawer and literally came crashing down and before someone says it’s me ? I was moving and had everything professionally put up by movers .

The drawers must go in a certain order or they won’t fitclose - the instructions don’t say that, nor the order, but not hard to figure out. The color was more grey than I expected and it’s not great quality. But it is very sturdy, was easy to assemble and looks good. I have it as an overflow dresser in my home gym so it works great for what I need and what I wanted to spend. Overall I’m very pleased with it.

The dresser was honestly kind of a pain to set up, it’s definitely a two person job and even then it was a struggle. The drawers didn’t fit perfectly, so we had to carve out space for them, which was a pretty easy fix. Overall, I do think it is worth it though. It’s affordable, seems sturdy enough, and looks really nice. It’s modern and minimalistic. I didn’t replace my handles to fit the theme of my room better.

Love the design but minor damaged everywhere

I was very excited when this arrived and worked with my boyfriend to unpack and assembled it. To my disappointment, there were many minor damages right out of the box, as the product is very heavy and difficult to pull out, we had to cut the cartoon in order to take out everything, after a quick discussion we knew we had no option but had to assemble it.

The exterior of the dresser is absolutely beautiful. I have no complaints there. However, it's seems cheaply made. The drawers are properly aligned on the sliding tracks but slightly wiggles back and forth making it shaky when you open and close them. I don't know if it's because the drawers are empty with no clothes in them yet, but I'll see when I fill them up this weekend. Hopefully the weight from my clothes will make it better.

The screws while putting together kept breaking. I really loved the look of this dresser and wanted something strong and not going to break. I’ve had it for about three weeks and it already broke. They don’t give extra pieces so if your screws break you’re out of luck & out of $200

Happy with purchase - fair price for quality and made in Canada. Shipped on time and packaged well. Heavy to carry alone at 125. Slight damage to back top edge of one of the panels. Fairly easy to assemble - my 15 year old daughter did most of it. Instructions easy to follow. Looks exactly as photos advertised. Recommend this product.

Looks great, just like the photos. Took a long time to assemble. Had a couple small scratches.

Nice looking unit, good Customer service

The unit itself is pretty good looking, but the veneer is flimsy. On the bright side, South Shore is pretty good at replacing chipped parts (they responded within 24 hours of my request for two drawer fronts that were chipped). I will say it is bigger than I expected. The box was all but destroyed when it was delivered, but I didn't see any actual damage resulting from transit. They did a nice job on interior packaging. Lastly, follow the directions carefully. I thought I was missing pieces, but it turns out I had actually used the wrong piece earlier in the process. I'm pretty handy and have assembled an entire apartment's worth of furniture in the past month, and all of it I've been able to do myself (including an embedded fireplace media stand)... except for this one. The way they have you assemble it really requires a second set of hands.

Beautiful dresser and great price. Looks fabulous in my bedroom. Drawers roll out very smoothly and hold a lot. Seems very sturdy. My only complaint is that my bedroom has thick carpeting and the dresser easily tips forward. It really needs to be attached to the wall but since I love alone, it's a bit too heavy for me to attach by myself although I put it together just fine. I put some thick books under the front which works even though it looks a little messy.
