This filter is an improvement over the OEM filter that came with the house. This one has charcoal inside to help filter out those nasty things in the water. I highly recommend this for your home system.

In early July I had the whole house water system installed. My well water has a lot of sediment. My installer had previous experience with the pleated filter and chose this filter instead. It offered clear water from the faucet and no odor. In the summer my water has a smell. After two months I could smell my water and also saw that the filter was very dirty. I changed the filter and now enjoy FRESH WATER again. I expect to change the filter again in 2 months. Not the fault of the filter, but of my well water. Very easy to replace.

I use this in series with a GE FXMTC polishing filter for odor and chlorine, snd both work great. They are used in a “Whole Kitchen” rather than a “Whole House” arrangement, on just the cold water, for an undercounter ice maker, two sinks (for drinking water filtration) and an ice maker (not used, but connected) in the freezer, as we prefer clear ice. In this use, filters last 2-3 years between changes, and they’re still quite clean when changed..

Excellent whole house filter. I’ve put these in every house I lived in since ‘92. Saves the hot water heater, better for the laundry, shower and drinking water, no chlorine smell or taste.

I love the filter. Problem was I had to order 8 times, when this is on a subscription. The app was horrible and would not update my payment method, it would NOT EDIT payment method. It took 6 months and updating app 5 times to finally get my subscription back on track. I tried calling but NO answer. You really need to do better.

It’s a carbon filter so it does pick up sediment but it is excellent for filtering out that rotten egg smell that results from bacteria eating ferrous material. Good pressure gets through to your faucets. . Stay with this, a 10-micron filter. Anything smaller is going to lower your water pressure. This has a service life of about six months. I have left mine in for a year but then you notice your water pressure starts dropping. Easy to put in. Turn off water. Press your filter’s air release button, remove old filter Keep a small bucket for that.
